🫶🏻What made recovery easier or more comfortable? 🫶🏻What are some “I never would have thought of that” items for the hospital or a long recovery stay? No suggestion is too small. I’m making the biggest packing checklist of my life, and every idea helps.

My surgery gets closer, my anxiety is starting to kick in. I’ll be leaving for Chicago soon, I’ll be in the hospital & then recovering in a Condo after surgery & a VRBO before surgery. The condo could be 1–2 months long & it’s EXPENSIVE. (More in comments)

These photos are hard for me to share. In 23’ I survived pulmonary embolisms & spent 22 days in hospital. During that time I developed excoriation (skin-picking disorder). These scars carry shame for me, but they carry truth: I survived something terrifying. I’m still here. #ExcoriationDisorder

I’m home, I had Influenza A. While there a friend saved my life by telling me to get a D-Dimer where they found several blood clots in my right lower lung. Had she not read about my hospitalisation & told me to get that test, I’d be going home to certain death. I’m doing my best but l need support.

I’m being admitted. My blood gases are not good. My co2 is extremely too high. Extremely thirsty. They’re treating me going forward as if l have pneumonia. No appetite still.
