Whilst at Battles Through History I had talking with another photographer who loves his film, telling all about cyanotypes, pin hole, etc I got speaking to him because he was carrying one of these lovely little cameras. Looks great and quite simple! Wish there was a new version! Shoots 6x6 & 6x4.5

Went to a cool history reenactment event today called Battles Through History at the South Of England Showground, Mid Sussex. Cool event showcasing the history of these islands from the Romans to the modern day. Shot mostly film and chatted with a load of other film photogs throughout the day.

My poor cats have been rather unwell the last week or so. Looks like it was a bad batch of cat food since we've now found sachets that have burst open! Thankfully they're on the mend now and I can prove that because Sooty gobbled down a good chunk of some flame grilled chicken I got from the co-op

The one thing about donating blood is that it takes a fair amount of time to rebuild my cardio to pre-donation levels. I donated last Saturday and a quick walk before work is always a tougher than it would be if I hadn’t donated a pint of blood 😅 That donation was my 44th to date 😁

Got my negatives back from the lab today from the half frame photo walk. Just doing some test scanning as I'm going to use my OM-5 Mk II for scanning. The shot of the paddle steamer was done using the camera's sensor shift high res stacking mode. Will scan more later.

Oh for gods sake! Now Tim Curry is gone. This is a bitter week for celebrity deaths! My fondest memory of Tim Curry growing was him in Loaded Weapon 1, the way he pronounced “microfilm” in it has stuck with me to this day 😅 RIP Tim Curry

Dammit. Spent the morning out in Arundel shooting with the IR converted X-Pro 1, but I forgot to set it to capture RAW. I only have JPEG's to work with... sigh. What a balls up. At least I took my film camera and finished a roll off whilst I was there.

Solar Eclipse stuff. Took over 1100 images of it tonight using an OM-5 Mark II with an adapted Super Takumar 200mm f4 (at f5.6). Hoping to create a janky timelapse of it. Used a Baader Solar Film filter. Also, tried a few shots on film using a pretty effective 16 stop filter.

Finally got a Canon FD 300mm f4 L lens. It’s not as big as I thought. Let’s hope it lives up to its reputation! FD lenses I still need: a 24mm, an 85mm and maybe a 200mm.
