New block to get ready for next competition. Starting with an SBD…235lb SSB, 185lb bench, and 365lb deadlift. Focus is on volume…it’s an adjustment and I’m still rebuilding muscle after surgery, but growth will show off on the platform. #blackskyfitness

End of deload week…405lb deadlift singles moved scary quick. Felt good to just have a week of balance work and stretching to relieve soreness and fatigue. Hack squat and single leg press to close out the workout. #blackskyfitness

Deadlift day. Felt good pulling 455lb, but failed 495lb. Decided to AMRAP 315lb to close out the session on a good note. Time for some rest before starting a new block. #blackskyfitness

Larsen press day. Lost more muscle in my upper body than I thought, so chest strength needs work. Multiples of 185 and 205lb, so pushed myself for 225 lb. Shoulder and back work for accessories. #blackskyfitness

Deload done, back to moving heavy. Focused on improving form meant weight moved way easier. Multiple sets of 405lb and 425lb, then made jump to 455lb for fun. Back and balance work to end this heavy session. #blackskyfitness

Program said one, went for a triple. SSB work, went heavy since primary squat day wasn’t great. Lots of work at 225lb, the top with two sets is 285lb. Feeling more confident with the squat and how my legs are recovering. #blackskyfitness

Larsen press becoming my fave secondary chest workout. Multiple sets @ 185lb then went off program and hit 205lb. Going to be at 225lb sooner than I thought. #blackskyfitness

5 months since leg surgery and finally got back to squatting over 300lb. Working sets of 285lb went smooth, so hit top set of 325lb for a challenge. Confidence with handling heavy weight coming back. #blackskyfitness

3 months after surgery and hit the heaviest number so far. 365lb deadlift felt smooth, before that I was able to rep 315lb. Progressing faster than the doctors thought I would! #blackskyfitness

Doc gave the go ahead to resume squats to help with balance work. Starting out with the SSB and going light with 185lb top set. Ankles and Achilles are still weak, but this will definitely help #blackskyfitness

Doing some PT work today, strengthening Achilles and ankles. I hate balance work but it’s helping with squats and deadlifts. Definitely a different kind of workout! #blackskyfitness

2 months after surgery. Been dreaming of returning to hitting big numbers, so 315lb deadlift felt good to move this morning. After this session, I realized I’ll be at 500+ lb soon. #blackskyfitness

First deadlift after surgery. Legs are still a little weak but still managed a single 275lb. Got a little emotional after this lift. Have to remind myself that strength will come back…patience is a must in the recovery process. #blackskyfitness

Deadlift Friday. Failed a PR of 515 lb last week, so got advice on staying patient with the deadlift bar and doing smarter warmup sets. Pulled 505lb today, then did AMRAP at 405lb for 7 reps. #blackskyfitness #gymsky
