As we head back down to London from Liverpool, we'd like to thank everyone who spoke to us about the challenges our sector continues to grapple with, as well as everyone who took a photo with our giant pint or picked up a bottle of Burnham's Brew! Until next year, cheers! 🍻

It's been brilliant hearing so many ideas on policy at Conference, and one of the most important for our sector is the future of Britain's circular economy. But for pubs and brewers to play their part, the Government needs to urgently rethink its flagship Extended Producer Responsibility scheme.

Reports came out over the weekend speculating that the Government is looking to make changes that could help the sector, particularly smaller pubs. According to our estimates, raising the small business rates relief threshold £18,000 would pull 5,000 locals out of paying business rates.
