iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

My current gaming thoughts: - Still playing a lot of Battlefield 6 and loving it - Gears of War: E-Day has grabbed me more than previous titles - Witcher 3 Remaster still hasn't clicked and feels bad IMO - Getting hyped for Modern Warfare 4 - Hopeful for Mass Effect's N7 Day 2026

We have to stop believing the forecasts of people who are making money from this. Don't think for a second that they are going to do anything to relieve the crunch. A crash is the only relief I can see and there's a lot of people who will try to keep that from happening.

I won't pretend to be a big Gears of War fan but so far E-Day is awesome and I'm enjoying the origin story since I don't know much about the lore outside of random bits. #xbox Here's a link to the first ~30 minutes on Xbox Series X in Balanced mode: youtu.be/-h_Lf4SPMZY

Episode #407 will be delayed. I will record it and release it early next week. Here's why: - I've caught a cold and my voice can't hold up to much talking right now - I'm not going to be able to record an episode next week (October 9th)

I guess all of that hype around the leaked 6/10 review was pointless. I won't pretend to be the biggest Gears of War fan but I am excited to experience the visual spectacle.👀 #xbox

Some old Andromeda concept art got my mind racing and my speculation rolling when it comes to a Mass Effect 5 teaser we saw a few years ago on N7 Day.🤔 Am I huffing hopium? Probably. Check it out below.👇 #masseffect 🟥: youtu.be/rzod8_7n1Nk

My simplest take on what's going on with Xbox is that due to Game Pass and COVID they grew way too fast and got way too little return on that investment. Now they're shrinking down to a more viable sized platform as they head towards a new console generation under new leadership.

I wish gamers would take more of a "observe and react" method of interacting with changes in the games industry. Too many people try to play armchair business analyst when most of us don't know shit about fuck which makes most of our hot takes reactionary and ignorant.

The hype around The Division 2's upcoming The Echoes Of Central Park DLC has me wanting to catch up. It looks like I dropped out before the Burden Of Truth Manhunt.😅 Any tips on content to focus on completing and gear to focus on farming?⭕ #TheDivision2

After Xbox's newest round of layoffs and reorganization we are seeing their vision for a more streamlined and (hopefully) more efficient company come to fruition. I have thoughts. Check out the video below.🎮 #xbox 🟥: youtu.be/3IcvspY6jww

My hot takes on the #Xbox announcement: - Fewer layoffs than I expected (for now) - Halo to Activisition is weird but makes sense - Obsidian to Bethesda and Playground and Turn 10 seems obvious - Xbox Game Studios is essentially dead - Happy for Undead Labs, sad for Ninja Theory

Wishing the best for the devs at Bungie because from the outside this doesn't seem to be the confident statement that I'm seeing some folks portray it as. I hope I'm wrong... the last thing we need are more big, legendary studios in crisis.

Rumored Xbox Game Pass changes (lower price, no day 1 games, other changes) for next year have been a long time coming. It's a cool idea but it isn't sustainable especially with unexpected changes in the industry. More tough PR moves while trying to "right the ship".

000

baun @baundiesel.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

The current games media model isn't sustainable. The big traditional outlets, like IGN and Kotaku, do little to no actual journalism because it doesn't pay for itself and instead are mostly doing engagement/click bait that most people don't care about or value. It's a doom cycle.

baun @baundiesel.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

By the way my Mass Effect HYPEcast @bsky.app account (@masseffecthypecast.bsky.social) STILL isn't reinstated and I'm STILL getting the runaround from @support.bsky.team to get it reinstated. I've proven my ownership, I've offered a new email to attach to it but still crickets from them.

baun @baundiesel.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

I'm 13+ hours (roughly 35-50% done) into Star Wars: Zero Company and I doubt I'll ever finish it. It's a well made game, there are some great moments story wise but the gameplay just feels like the same thing over and over again. I suspect I'm just not an XCom kind of guy.🙃
