Mets fans, who are you rooting for in Braves vs. Phillies? I'm torn, I hated the Braves as a kid, but I'm finding myself rooting for them right now. #MLBPlayoffs #Baseball #MetsSky

Alexandra Fasulo's attacks on New York solar have reached Washington and the governor's race. The state has struggled to counter her claims, even when they don't hold up.

An article published yesterday from Marie J. French @politico.com looks at Fasulo, leading the crusade against New York renewable energy developers.

In recent months, she has started a crusade against the Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Electric Transmission (ORES). She accuses them of ignoring all environmental analysis, pressuring farmers to sell their land to developers, and orchestrating a handover of US farmland to foreign investors.

Incredibly frustrating that the #14 most popular Substack page in the Climate & Environment section is Alexandra Fasulo, the former Communications Director for the NY Young Republicans Club whose writing and videos focuse solely on preventing solar and wind development in upstate New York.

You should really learn about eminent domain laws and how solar developers have no ability to use them to take private land.

Baudi @baudi.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
She is most certainly not for renewables. She posts lies about them daily. Last week she posted about a wind turbine that got struck by lighting as if that were a reason the tech is bad. She lies about solar panels leaching chemicals into the water and soil. She is a paid propagandist.

Are you implying there is eminent domain happening to install solar fields on private property?
100
Baudi @baudi.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Imagine that same land being used for solar, native grasses and wildflowers, grazing for sheep and cows, apiaries for bees. Instead it’s just corn. Not the sweet corn we love to eat at a summer BBQ but corn that is ground up and processed to add to fuel. Wtf are we doing?
000
Baudi @baudi.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Worst of all, we subsidize a lot of these corn/ethanol producers so they can grow a monoculture crop, not to be eaten but simply to be burned in our gas tanks.
100
Baudi @baudi.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
If I could make one change to our current agriculture and energy policy it would be to convert farmland used to grow corn, strictly for ethanol production to solar fields. We are literally using hundreds of thousands of acres to produce a one time use product that isn’t even efficient.

Baudi @baudi.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
I recently stumbled upon a group of anti-solar activists in NY state. They claim to be protecting farmland from foreign (Canadian) solar companies. I decided to do some math:
Chart showing the difference in billion. Lies driven per year if the 144k acres of NY farmland, currently used strictly to grow corn for ethanol production was converted to solar. Solar would produce 75x the energy and would allow for nearly 84 billion miles driven by an EV compared to 1.1 billion miles driven by an internal combustion engine w/ energy from the ethanol added to gasoline.

Baudi @baudi.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
I'm curious what your source is for the claims about panels and pollinators. There are quite a few farmers in NY State that I follow who purposefully plant pollinator flowers in their solar fields and have not had any issues.

Baudi @baudi.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
Totally, I'm definitely in favor of more rooftop and parking solar but one thing to consider about solar on farmland is it's often the least productive plots of land that farmers own. If it's profitable for them to grow crops on it, they'll typically do that.

Do you not believe in private property rights? Why should the Amish or any other resident in the area have the ability to tell a private landowner what they can and can't do with their own land?
100
Baudi @baudi.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
Interesting that you said "at" the Amish land and not "on" the Amish land. The proposed Flat Creek solar farm was on private property that landowners were willing to lease/sell to solar developers. The landowner and developer are going through a legal battle and the permit was rescinded.

Baudi @baudi.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
I can’t find any records in Georgia or NY where eminent domain was used to take private land for solar development. There are cases where the utility companies have used eminent domain for transmission lines but that typically has to do with data centers, not solar.
