Well done. It totally makes sense that you're a writer by trade. :D

Lots can be said about the Russian Armed forces throughout the centuries. An unwilligness to Commit troops of any sort rarely was a Factor.

020

Battle Brush Studios @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social · 13h

Interesting indeed. Well, they had a ton of those formations as well, right?

Battle Brush Studios @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social · 13h

Btw, 70€ is a heap of money, but not uncommon. In Vienna it's twice as much if they catch you without a ticket. Which is pretty hefty.

Almost 20 years ago I went to Paris with a group from uni. One of us had left her ticket thingy at the hotel, she just jumped the barrier to the metro trains and walked on. Immediately two metro guys were on her. Things were clarified, but Paris will not suffer fare evasion lightly. :D

I'll suggest two as well. At least. You never know what Szenario you come up with or across.

Green Stuff World. They should know better, shouldn't they?

I recently rewatched the In Search of Darkness 'documentary' series because autumn and all, and that scene is cited. Not sure I ever watched a Critters film at all.

the zombie falls over, falls apart into all the little dudes, right? I remember it looking so incredibly seamless. That whole film is incredibly inventive in its effects and just a rollercoaster. No idea what age it's intended for, but it's a cool film.

Battle Brush Studios @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

That's a super cool film but I wouldn't wanna have watched it at 5. :D

Battle Brush Studios @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Yeah, I really like the parts in which they dub over the original film/sprice in the dude and other stuff. Very MST3k. Not so hot on the CGI cow and the scenes they fully shot. Somehow it always feel like that was a studio or even legal requirement.

Ah yes, Kung Pow. Great fun. I recently rewatched a bunch of martial arts things. Tom-Yum-Goong and a bunch of the Cynthia Rothrock Hong Kong films (yes, Madam for the first time in full and such). Great, great stuff. Also an old favourite, Bloodsport 2. :D

Cheers! It's the Italeri 1/72nd one Warlord sell or used to sell. Got it at a show many years ago, not sure if I ever used it in a game even. :D

The latter three were made very ad-hoc after I realized I needed bridges for games or photos. The last one is more of a dock, but can double as a bridge.

If you were a sci-fi captain, surely you would be Nathan Bridger. %) Cool stuff. 👍

too many trees? That's like saying you got too many fences; a bold-faced LIE. :D Great to see this table grow. Good stuff.

What's the lovliest thing about painting Napoleonic Austrians? Indeed. Pink cuffs/turnbacks/collars. It is mandatory for each collection of Napoleonic Austrians to contain at least a battalion with pink regimental facings.

My wish is for Rubicon to finally get their Lee kit out...

Cheers! Yeah, Soviet tanks are extremely interesting, and I have to say that I almost prefer single-coloured tanks over camo'd ones.

28mm Rubicon models. Really good fun to work with. :)

Also, while we're at it - I never ever want to see Brian Danielson's sad face again. It should annoy me, but it's heartbreaking. That hug got to me.

Moxley's promos always come across very 'real', but this stuff just felt genuine. Even all the context aside, this is one for the ages.

At this point, youtube stuff loads WAY faster via Invidious rather than via youtube's own website. Impressive.

What video games are good at is presenting the challenges of combat in real time. I'm endlessly fascinated with how movement and communictation at the ground level work or rather don't always work. Chain of Command's jump-off points and 'random' move distances make sense entirely.

Ich bin wie sicherlich viele andere auch über Kein Mucks in diese alten Kriminalhörspiele gekommen. Dabei bin ich garkein Krimifreund, aber ich genieße die Sprache und das Schauspiel sehr.

Does this list include Black Tiger Masks or just proper Tiger Masks? :D

100

Battle Brush Studios @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Weren't there like 5 official consecutive Tigermasks?

100

Battle Brush Studios @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

🤣 I don't understand that sorta logic. Maybe this sorta thing works once? Probably never. But walking the earth with a general worldview of viewing everybody as someone whom I can possibly get to give me stuff for less than an already-low price is ...surprising.

Few years ago I used lacquer again for the first time in AGES and got a whole new appreciation for the stuff. Especially when it comes to airbrushing. Night and day, compared to acrylics.

this looks so nice. Proper miniaturin' :) Is that 6mm? For which rules?

I was surprised for a bit as well, but then I saw it's a list of shows from the 21st century and the sopranos started in 1999. Only reason it's not in the top 5 at the very least. Same as 90s stand-outs like ER or NYPD Blue.

Battle Brush Studios @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Okay, when ever I talk about "good things" this of course excludes recent stuff. ;) Just kidding. Watched Conclave a few days ago. It RULZ, yo. Well, it's good. It's got cool pictures and the whole ritus stuff is super rad.

I'd have to Check. Swords around a Throne is one of my favpurites to just Pick up and Lea around in.

Battle Brush Studios @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

All the problems serialized tv shows have made me appreciate a tightly-written film. Robocop is one of my favourite examples of efficient presentation of a world, characters within it, and a story they go through. Plus, explosions, robots and CEOs being thrown off skyscrapers.

140

Battle Brush Studios @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Without getting into what I didn't like that's on that list, I'm surprised that Bob's Burgers isn't on there. Either way, I find that I really have less and less inclination to watch a tv show. Films are good. Films make sense, they have to tell a story within a timeframe.

Battle Brush Studios @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

I was surprised that it's 12 or so for me. Some of which are good (True Detective, Community), some solid (Always Sunny, which can be hilarious and smart at times, but don't watch too much at once. Kinda like South Park. Curb your Enthusiasm, 30 Rock. Sitcom stuff.) and several just very meh.

Cooles Zeug. Sicherlich haben gewisse Familienmitglieder noch irgendwo einen Plastilinknödel rumliegen und es nicht merken, wenn ein bisschenwas davon fehlt. :D
