I wish I loved the Supergirl movie. I detest the misogynism directed at Milly Alcock. I like that Supergirl isn't sexualised. I find the movie badly written & murky. It lacks the visual beauty of Bilquis Evely wonderful illustrations. If it had even half the visual flare of the book it'd be magical.

1/2 Supergirl - the hate for this movie is forced, but so is the love. Its a generic. Its the definition of mid. I actually didn't mind Krem, but the movie was visually boring. I miss the colorful cosmos stuff of the book, the flying space horse, the dinosaurs on the green sun planet.

Another Hollywood remake of a classic 1990s movie coming out this week, the 1996 film Michael. At least they seem to be doing something a bit different with it. Instead of a wise cracking angel, this time they're making him an eccentric pop star.

Gérard de Nerval (1808 - 1855) was a major figure in French Romanticism, a poet and travel writer. He was also a bit odd. He had a pet lobster that he used to walk around on a lead. When asked why a lobster and not a dog he said "he doesn't bark and knows the secrets of the deep"

I wish people would stop calling Tommy Robinson by his original name, Yaxley-Lennon. Not because I have any sympathise for the man, but because I'm dyslexic and nearly always read it as Annie Lennox!!!

I havn't seen Emerald Fennell's "Wuthering Hights" yet (Marcia has bought us tickets for Thursday), but I've been very much enjoying the accompanying soundtrack album by Charli xcx. It's wonderful, especially the track "House", featuring the always brilliant John Cale.
