So we've had our ups and downs since moving up to New Hampshire. Not with the area, its absolutely stunning. But with getting our new routine in place. We're slowly getting there and to help my wife MADE A FRIGGIN APP based on the starship narrative I've been writing to help us coordinate tasks!

Its a global company and she's responsible for a product where she has to coordinate all over the world, usually in their time zones. Its difficult to wake up, roll over and see her already answering messages and emails before shes even out of bed.

I've been recently feeling very conflicted about my wifes new position at work. It affords us a great quality of life and travel opportunities. AI isn’t replacing people. It’s replacing the boring parts of work. Going back to my Star Trek minded brain this is what Starfleet got right: automate the mundane so humanity can focus on exploration, creativity, and leadership. AI doesn’t remove judgment, it reveals who has it.

For my birthday this year I got an instant camera and a small pocket journal so I've started a new daily ritual. I pick one random photo a day and spend a few minutes journaling my thoughts about the pic. It's been a nice subtle way to give myself a break from being online so often.

Fours hours at my first live NBA event and the sensory overstimulation is real. I'm not into watching sports at all, but my youngest got an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team and even get on the court to high five the players. I'm incredibly thankful to give them the support I never got.

Being on the autism spectrum and experiencing issues with both auditory processing and verbal expression, I use AI as a tool to help me be able to better express myself and organize my thoughts. So I see both sides of the coin. I dont think theres an easy answer to this unfortunately :(

Especially my artistic friends. I see the fear and anxiety that they experience at the very real possibility that their creativity could be replaced by a machine. It's a hard thing to witness. But on the other side I also use AI frequently in my everyday life.

Its both incredibly interesting and horrifying seeing both sides of the AI debate. I work for a company and help model the AI tools being used to automate jobs that I spent two decades growing and mentoring people on. I see the firsthand impact it's having in not only my industry, but across others.
