The Brits somehow can make incredible bleak movies, 28 days later for example is one of my favorite movies. I think the fact that you live in the united kingdom, seeing the apocalypse is pretty much like living in São Paulo and imagining a cyberpunk dystopia. Things just comes out easily.

Threads (1984) is, it's like a spiritual successor for "The war game" (from 66') but actually even more brutal somehow. This movie feels like a punch in the gut. The fact that this is a real scenario that can happen, and it's preventable, makes it even more scary. We're going through it all again.
