LSS right now. But also, funnily enough, I think a lot of the playerbase feel this is accurate. Sadly, I think the nerf will absolutely crater Blaze, while Kano will still win showdowns. The OP card in Kano's deck is the hero card. He'll catch another benching (or two) in 4 months. #fabtcg

It's eerily familiar that post MPW the only types of warrior* that are converting at big #FABtcg events are fatigue. Mostly on DGA. That despite the positivity for the new cards, the way to approach a meta filled with 0 for 4 d-reacts is to reach for the axe. Very MPG. *Kassai doesn't count.

#FABTCG thought of the day. Fang is the only member of the year of powercreep (MST/ROS/HNT, plus honorable Gravy mention) to have never dominated a meta. He's never even been meta. One assumes @fabtcg.com didn't go "let's make on hero weak on purpose" so how did that miss so hard?

There's a small wall of great guardian support here. And it plays rather nicely into the one year development lag theory of #FABtcg. A year ago MPG and SUP (at least the guardian half) absolutely faceplanted. Made not a whisper of an impact on the game. A year later, finally cards that do something

Their posts are, in hindsight, extremely obvious bait, with takes and opinions that off base they could never be seen to be serious. The post I fell for? #fabtcg Thoughts from Sage WCQ. I took my favourite hero, Blaze, to a 4-2 finish, 14th of 60ish, despite being quite public with the idea that she's the 3rd best (4th with kano) wizard in format. Fun was had, but you can still see the cracks in SAGE, at least at competitive levels. 1/5

#fabtcg These are the two wizard majestics printed in PEN. They are payoffs for playing a lot of sigils and are both interesting tech cards that sorta work. 3 months after printing them, the only hero playing sigils was turbo-nerfed in way that stopped him playing sigils. These are two dead cards

I'd like to ask @fabtcg.com: when you see a deck like Fatigue Lyath or Pleiades, which completely ignores the hero's fantasy to just do something else, but at a reasonable level, what are you thinking? Players found a way, so success? The hero still isn't supported to be played as designed, failure?

Made my first Calling Day 2 at Rotterdam on Valda (the only one to do so). For the most part, I did not see the parts of the meta I wanted to, even if they were everywhere around me. Still, had a lot of fun before being finally put out of my misery by an interesting fatigue Lyath list. #FabTCG.

Today's spicy #FabTCG take. They've been really good at removing all the books that get you two cards from one. The most recent to be banned is CLV, but also Chart the High Seas There's still one obvious "book" left. Spark of Genius. Tutor a card, then draw a card. It's a book. It's busted. Ban it

I'm super excited about this, but with caveats. Excitement first: Oly getting support is long, long overdue. Dori Quicksilver getting support is amazing. It being a two handed sword focused set, with new cards arriving for the first time since 2021, amazing. Marvel Dawnblade will make me poor.

Currently, I think SAGE is an excellent casual armory format and a fairly poor competitive one. And I say this as a blitz truther and commoner enjoyer. It is asking to be taken more seriously than it deserves. You can see it has potential, as is a great new player spot, but I hated these PQs #fabtcg

I feel like #fabtcg SAGE would be a far better format if they printed an ice wizard weapon, maybe a once per turn instant that costs 2, but can only be activated if you've played a NAA this turn. Hell, it could even do 2 or 3 damage. Not often I'm pro ice, but I think it'd address a lot of issues.

Additional #FabTCG World Premiere thought: putting Rusted Relic in the antiquities pack is an unnecessary booby prize. You don't been to put bad cards in these packs, and choosing (and it is a choice) to do so is a bad look. Just put another damn common staple in there instead.

With the lack of Blaze, that means both the classes I play got a whole bunch of cards printed for heroes who, at the earliest, won’t be legal until mid April (or somewhere in Q3 at the earliest.) It feels pretty damn miserable. But I’ll look on the bright side of decent cards for Dori. #fabtcg

A second #fabtcg SAGE thought for the day. The last year has seen @fabtcg.com printing lot of niche counter cards to try and stop the 90%/10% matchups that can be so prevelant in the game. (Warrior vs illusionist, for instance). These cards are almost universally Ms. The problems persist in SAGE.

So, having played SAGE through the "pre" era and now into the PEN era (which is much richers with AB/SV etc.) I'm of the opinion that Waning Moon could come back and it would be fine. Right now wizards basically don't do anything to anyone not running redline aggro. #fabtcg

I think people complaining about the current #FaBtcg meta have remarkably short memories. This was one PQ season ago. One. This isn't even the height of MST degeneracy. The current meta has a wider S tier, while also allowing every sort of deck to have a chance. Frankly, they should be applauded.

@lss-karol.bsky.social Question regarding Snyder. How late in the process was he abandoned? Because you can see all the warrior cards printed around his ability (fatal engagement, commanding presence, etc.) that are otherwise kinda dead, largely unplayable cards without it. Too late to adjust?

It's interesting watching the two separate types of reactions to the MPG reveals. People who don't play Guardian (or warrior) are going "but these cards are all terrible". While the guardians are quietly going "I can work with this. Exciting." You can see the gap in power levels there. #fabtcg

My guess that the #fabtcg PQ eligibility change is for the removal of ELO. The simplest change to the system would just make all events above skirmish level count towards World Champs points. Which would then has the side effect having Clements & co. haunting every PQ in the world.

One of my favourite things about #FaBTCG is that I can walk away from losing a T8 game at a warmup comp thinking I'd done my best, just didn't see the right card at the right time. But then lay at bed late at night, as I realise I'd fundamentally misplayed a turn halfway, and losing was all my fault

If I were a Labour strategist, I'd be terrified by this result. It shows (among other things) that pandering to both the centre-right and the big money donors, won't keep you in power when the majority still feel like they're struggling. Especially in context of how shallow their landslide was.
