A pinned post for #portfolioday, a kind of random selection from within the last year. I am not very active on here! I'm on tumblr though: batcrooks.tumblr.com

Two dragons dance on stage above an orchestra pit featuring three dragons playing instruments

A colorful 1970s style illustration of a unicorn. The numbers 2026 are in the corner.

A collection of sketches of various pokemon: Lunala observing a passing Minior, Zoroark running menacingly toward the camera, a sleeping Dunsparce, Weedle meeting Fomantis, Wooper and Fuecoco leaping happily, and Galarian Farfetch'd thwacking his big leek.

A very cutesie pic of an anthro cat opening a present, revealing a Hanukkah sweater, and a penguin playing with a toy Christmas train

2026 Year of the Horse! Or Unicorn, I guess! Wanted to do a 70s style illustration and i think it turned out pretty neat! #YearOfTheHorse #LunarNewYear

A unicorn in a classic rampant pose but rendered in a whimsical 1970's illustration style, with bright colors and an aged appearance.

my painfully honest 9 games, because it actually let me put Flight Rising lol. It's a browser pet game but I've been playing it since 2013 and it's like 90% of my drawing output for some reason... my9games.com

a grid of 9 video games including: Flight Rising, Terraria, Baldur's Gate III, Escape Simulator, Abiotic Factor, The Rise of the Golden Idol, The Roottrees are Dead, Red Dead Redemption II, Super Mario Odyssey

More scenes from my @flightrising.com lair: two dancers on stage, a glassblower and his assistant, a detective who investigates murders in the big city and her secretary, and the town tavern. #FRFanart #FlightRising

A furry dragon and a small, frilled dragon dance on a stage in a spotlight. The furry dragon is dipping down low to the ground while her wings are raised and cupped downward. The frilled dragon flies above her, gesturing widely with her wings. In the foreground, the orchestra pit features three dragons playing instruments.

A large, spiny dragon with a long, glass spike for a nose blows molten glass into shape using a rod. In the foreground, a rodent-like person with a reptilian tail holds a poker in the glowing-hot opening of the glass forge.

A raptor-like dragon stands on a tiled floor. She is wearing a trenchcoat and bowler hat, and a bird perches on her horn spike. A faun stands beside her, looking up in horror at the foreground. In the foreground, a mass of vines writhes, concealing the barely-visible limbs of a dragon's body. It is a strange, magical crime scene.

A scene of a cozy medieval tavern, at the bar. The bartender is a large, stocky dragon. He is looking at the two patrons sitting at the barstools, which are a rooster-like person and a small, long, and thin dragon with glasses. In the background, another dragon is sitting in a large chair and watching the people at the bar.

Flight Rising scenes, featuring characters from my lair: carrier pigeon cote workers, a schoolteacher, a dream explorer, and two archaeologists #FRFanart @flightrising.com

Two pigeons perch on a lion-like dragon. Two woodpecker-like people are nearby, one is holding a pigeon and the other is seated at a small desk and writing with an ink pen.

A Tundra dragon, a furry breed of dragon, points to a diagram of a flower on a blackboard. Four children of different species sit in front of her, including two dragon hatchlings, a moth-like person, and a person resembling a naga.

A frilled dragon holds a book and looks up at another dragon that is spiraling out of a void. The second dragon has spiral eyes and a spiraling tongue. Various surreal objects float about.

A stocky dragon called a Snapper dragon observes a relief mural of a small manticore and a naga-like person on the wall of a ruin. Her centaur partner stands next to her.

A random selection of familiars from Flight Rising! There are so many delightful creatures on Sornieth #FlightRising #FRFanArt

check out this scan of the dracorocoro issue from back when crystafam gem & gold came out! (this is very silly FR fanart, lol. What would a pokemon game look like if the Sornieth dragons invented it? the pkmn are based on FR familiars and the protagonists are dragons!) #FRFanart #FlightRising🧵 1/5

A fake magazine spread made to imitate the look of Japanese magazine "Corocoro", which reported on Pokemon news. The illustrations in the spread are of Flight Rising characters drawn in a Pokemon style, and all the text is made to resemble runes found on Flight Rising

a new type of pikmin, which are tiny alien creatures with flowers on their heads. this type is called "picklemin" and the image shows a small group of them carrying a cucumber through a leafy garden

a red dragon whose lower half is entirely spinal column flies over the neon grid of a rhythm game

in a snowy area lit by a flaming log, a black wolf with fresh bleeding gashes snarls at a dragon's tail that curls around the foreground

Art of one of my perma-baby dragons on FR, a little Mirror hatchling :) (Reposted because I forgot it can't be transparent lol) @flightrising.com #FlightRising #FRFanart

Art of a Mirror dragon hatchling from Flight Rising, a dragon with four eyes and head fins. It is black, white, yellow, and orange in markings resembling butterfly wings and a mixture of an orca and a king penguin. It is sitting like a little puppy and smiling cutely.

Flight Rising fanart of my ruthless Lightning mercenary, Amperage! #FRFanArt #FlightRising

A Snapper dragon from Flight Rising. She is yellow with glow-in-the-dark blue jagged stripes and lots of spikes. She is sitting at a table in a private room at a restaurant or club, with a view of the Lightning city Goldensparc visible through a gap in the curtain sectioning it off. On the table is a map of the Shifting Expanse, with a railroad and other landmarks marked. Her hand is resting on an empty Electrician's Power Pack apparel item. She is looking at the camera, with the POV being someone seated across the table from her, hiring her services.

I still love mimics. They're just lil guys who like hiding.

A crab-like mimic chest covered in barnacles. With a crazy tongue and rusty sword in claw.

for funsies, the best books I read (for the first time) in 2024. Some really good ones. Tragic but so readable bio, my second favorite Kingsbridge, and I'm always so pleasantly surprised to find sci-fi I really enjoy. Finally read the classic P&P.🧵 1/2

The last four years of my Lunar New Year themed series: Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, and Dragon. Next year is Year of the Snake and I'm already worried about it... don't know what to do for snake...

A bull made from (ceramic) china with traditional patterns in blue on white, on a red background. Its back is cracked showing a gilded interior. The cracks resemble the number "2021".

A repeating pattern of classic tattoo imagery, including a woman's hand, a flower, a diamond, an anchor, a scroll, a liquor bottle, a tattoo gun, and a tiger. The tiger's stripes hide the number "2022".

Two rabbits drive a white car down a rural southern English road with hedges on either side and rolling hills in the distance. The car's front license plate reads "2023".

An orange, Eastern-style dragon sits at a flower pot, looking at a sprout. Around the border of the image are various plants representing the artist's friends and family, clockwise: pumpkins, aster, sweetgum leaf, crabapple branch, japanese maple leaf, variegated monstera, pitcher plant, lotus flower, yellow iris, monstera (repeated), maple (repeated), crabapple (repeated), sweetgum (repeated), chestnut branch, lily, moonflower. The color palette is limited, using only orange, green, purple, yellow, black, and white. The flower pot has the number "2024" on it.
