Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Instructions obviously written by the same person that wrote Learjet maintenance manuals. "You're an engineer, just work it out for yourself". 020
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I've built several RFM models, they've all been really enjoyable builds. 120
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Brilliant, I'm so pleased he's enjoying his bass playing. 011
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Think I'm done with the Vampire. And I'm pleased with how it looks on my wall. One solution the space problem in this room at least. #histscalemodels 2516
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 11/09/2026To be fair Julian, I started this one over three months ago, it just languished over the hot summer, as did I, due to a lack of enthusiasm. I only restarted it this week. 000
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Actually did some work on the modelling bench this week. What you see us a 1/48 Vampire on an airfield apron. The plan is to put the whole thing in a picture frame and mount it on my wall. #histscalemodels 5614
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 08/09/2026That's a good 'un. It'll look great on a suitable diorama. 110
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Notwithstanding my having taken the whole summer off from building this year (enthusiasm failure), my usual thing is building dioramas, either round armour or figures. I usually end up doing perhaps four a year, depending on the subject and complexity of the scene. 010
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 01/09/2026My favourite there was The Breath a couple of years ago. 010
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 08/08/2026Yeah, I always remember it as being slightly quirky, certainly not ordinary or mainstream. Might be time to revisit it. 120
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 07/08/2026I do remember it, though I've never seen an episode re-run since it was first broadcast when I was a kid. 120
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Always tidy up leftover parts/decals/PE then give the workbench a really good tidy up and clean. Then agonise over the next build. 010
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 10/07/2026I'm in the same boat. I've been doing armour in 1/35 for so long other scales and subjects seem a bit wrong. Currently I'm doing a 1/48 Vampire (1st ever 1/48) so a complete departure for me and I'm certainly out of my comfort zone. Still don't know if I'll finish it, or where I'll put it. 131
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 04/07/2026I'm avoiding applying 87,000 miniscule decals on my Vampire. 000
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 30/06/2026Personal hates include ; Parts so small/fragile they can't be removed from a sprue without damaging them ( AFV Club, I'm looking at you) Excessive amounts of PE. Small assemblies that could be perfectly well moulded as a single piece instead of a dozen tiny sub parts, just because they can. 140
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 28/06/2026My wife was really angry with it this morning. Especially as I beat her to the answer. (smug). 010
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 21/06/2026Hello Grace, no problem. I'm always happy to talk to another enthusiast though my aviation career is now over since I retired in 2022. Thank you for your kind comments on my work. 210
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 12/06/2026Here's his reply; Hi Mike, the crew i came across on Ebay, they were about £35. the stowage was a mix of Value gear off Ebay some 3D printed items from Ringo Resin on Ebsy (jerry cans and ammo cans) and ammo Verlinden set that came up on Vinted. 241
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 12/06/2026A friend of mine is currently building a 1/16 Sherman. I'll ask him where his crew figures came from. 220
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 11/06/2026Yeah, there's something a bit special about those early Cold War jet aircraft. 000
Mike Edmunds @bassworm.bsky.social · 11/06/2026So lucky, I have few childhood memories of seeing them. I have a soft spot for a Vampire, at the BA apprentice training centre we had bits of Vampire that were used as training aids. 110
