A poster featuring a drawing of mayor Zohran Mamdani in a Sailor Moon-style outfit flying over a New York City skyline, labeled Sailor Mamdani, displayed at a booth, with a price tagn of $20.

My wife and I have been spending the week with family at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. In the first few days after our arrival we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and had our son take this picture when we fortuitously passed this sign on the boardwalk.

A frog-like old man, in light cap, sunglasses, black tee and gray shorts fist bumps a lovely old woman (who is regularly mistaken for Elizabeth Warren), in blue baseball cap, gray tank top, and blue shorts. They are standing on a boardwalk, in front of a jewelry store, next to a big sign that (coincidentally) reads "Happy 40th Anniversary".

If you scroll down far enough in this article, you will see this photo of my wife, front and center in the celebratory crowd at Darializa Avila Chevalier's watch party at an enormous venue located in Riverbank State Park. She got home late (for her) last night […] [Original post on social.coop]

Photo of an older woman with short silver-gray hair and wearing glasses (somewhat resembling Elizabeth Warren!), her arm raised and mouth open in a cheer, amongst many younger, similarly jubilant men and women, in a cavernous , festively lit, venue. Caption reads "Supporters of Darializa Avila Chevalier celebrate her lead over incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat during a watch party at Sofrito in Hamilton Heights, June 23, 2026"

I am currently in the thrall of a bad cold, which puts me in a position to test my hypothesis that kvetching is, at least, palliative and -- in precise dosages, at regular intervals -- possibly curative. There are, however, significant side effects...

A solitary cancelation barely registers with a publication like the New York Times. But a coordinated cancelation over a short period of time registers as a noticeable occurrence.

Tweet from Current Affairs @curaffairs, Nov 20:

More than 200 people have canceled their New York Times subscriptions for us.

Our offer remains active: email help@currentaffairs.org with proof you've canceled your @nytimes subscription, and we’ll give you a free year of digital access to Current Affairs!

Retweet:

Nathan J Robinson @NathanJRobinson - Nov 18

So far we have successfully cost the NYT $60,000 in annual subscription revenue over Bret Stephens’ horrible column. A drop in the bucket for them, but it's important to exact a price for pushing war propaganda. x.com/ NathanJRobinso...

In the early light, at the Inwood Farmers' Market, the morning after Halloween, a headless sentry guards the way...

A headless, naked mannequin leans against a car whose rear abuts a crosswalk. The street beyond, in early morning light, is lined with stalls, some simply open air, some topped by tent-like squat pyramids of fabric. In the far distance, several tall city buildings loom.

Sent by my wife, from the audience of tonights "Fighting Oligarchy" town hall in Brooklyn, with #BernieSanders and #ZohranMamdani

Bernie Sanders and Zohran Mamdani, sitting on stools, a table with water bottles between them, on a stage at Brooklyn College. There is a row of flags (US, and presumably NYS and NYC) behind them and a large blue curtain behind that.

#ZohranMamdani and #AlexandriaOcasio-Cortez appeared earlier today at the Puerto Rican Day parade in #NYC and a comrade of my wife's sent her these pix. #MamdaniForMayorNYC #DontRankCuomo #RankMamdaniFirst

Zohran Mamdani, in a suit, clapping his hands and smiling. To his left (our right) stands Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, in a red dress, also smiling. To his right is an older woman whom I cannot identify, with short hair, wearing pants. They are all standing in front of the open back of a truck, on whose bed people are standing, their heads not visible, holding a yellow banner, bearing words that are obscured, although the words "Pueblo" and "Alexandria Ocasio" are visible.

Unidentified woman, Zohran Mamdani, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, standing together in fronto of a very large banner reading "Puerto Rico No Se Vende" as well as a crowd bearing a partially obscured banner reading "Congresswoman...", facing photographers and audiographers.
