I feel this. Watching Lucifer's debut was like looking in the mirror. It's helped me see my own flaws a little more clearly. Lucifer is the Sin of Pride. And an aspect of that is isolation. Not from pomposity, but shame. Stuck in self-perpetuating loneliness, he resorts to laughing away the pain.

Recently I had the thought that Lucifer's debut contextualizes Charlie's character, why she is the way she is. And then the very next episode we see Heaven and LUCIFER gets contextualized. He hails from the land of clouds and pastels and way too much sugar. And even after all this time, it shows.
