i would say the tag attempt has begun by the first still here, where his foot is on the foul line. by the end, his body is well into foul territory, more than 3' away. the problem is that they don't rule based on like center of mass or anything, but usually based on furthest part of the body.

i got my necklace from @nora.zone’s We Want You To Have This today!! i always feel complicated receiving the kindness of strangers (thank you, strangers) but between ordering it and today i spent 4 nights in the hospital and seeing a beautiful sparkly object made my day so much better. 💖💖

it’s weird because i have a different line of his literally tattooed on my body, but the edward gorey thing i think about most often is “it’s possible to pick up crumbs / by pressing on them with the thumbs”

it is the “squishy no-knead white bread” recipe from sohla el-waylly’s cookbook Start Here. i used about 45% whole wheat flour, and a little extra liquid because the flour i use is particularly thirsty. despite the title, i do knead it a little.

Ingredients:
585 g bread flour
1 tsp instant yeast
1½ tbsp kosher salt
1 large egg (about 55 g)
400 g whole milk, between 100° and 110°F
80 g granulated sugar
60 g neutral oil

(notes about recipe: mostly: don’t flour your hands, use spray instead)
1. Mix the wet and dry: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, and salt.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk the egg until no streaks remain. Add the milk, sugar, and oil, and whisk until combined.
3. Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the wet ingredients.
Use a stiff silicone spatula to mix until all the flour is hydrated. Scrape off any dough clinging to the spatula with a plastic bowl scraper.
4. Fold and rest: Using the plastic bowl scraper, scootch under the dough and pull it up and over itself. Continue folding the dough, rotating the bowl a quarter-turn after every fold, until it is evenly mixed and beginning to look smooth. Tightly wrap the bowl with plastic wrap and rest the dough for 20 to 30 minutes.
5. Fold and rest: Lightly grease the counter and your hands with cooking spray. Use the bowl scraper to scrape the dough onto the counter. Press the dough into a rough 8-inch square. Using the bowl scraper, fold the dough in half from left to right, then bottom to top, leaving you with a 4-inch square of dough. Rotate the dough 90 degrees, flatten into an 8-inch square again, and repeat the folding process two more times (for a total of three).
6. Wash, dry, and grease the bowl. Return the dough to the bowl, tightly wrap with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes.
7. Repeat step 5: Lightly grease the counter and your hands with cooking spray. Use the bowl scraper to scrape the dough onto the counter. Press the dough into a rough 8-inch square. Using the bowl scraper, fold the dough in half from left to right, then bottom to top, leaving you with a 4-inch square of dough. Rotate the dough 90 degrees, flatten into an 8-inch square again, and repeat the folding process two more times

8. Bulk ferment overnight: Roll the dough against the counter to roughly form it into a ball. Then return the dough to the bowl, tightly wrap with plastic wrap, and transfer it to the fridge to ferment for 24 to 36 hours. (Make sure the bowl is very tightly wrapped with plastic so the dough doesn't develop a skin.)
9. Form and proof: Lightly grease the counter and your hands with cooking spray. Use the bowl scraper to scrape the dough onto the counter. Use your hands and a rolling pin to flatten it into a 12-inch square, positioned like a diamond with one corner pointing toward you. Bring the left and right corners to the center, then roll the dough, starting with the corner closest to you, into a tight cylinder. Pinch the seam closed and place the dough into a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan, seam-side down.
10. Loosely cover with a slightly damp towel and proof until the dough reaches the top of the loaf pan and slowly bounces back when gently pressed, 3 to 4 hours.
11. Bake: Position a rack in the iower third of the oven and heat to
350°F (177°C). Mist the top of the bread with cooking spray and bake until it is deeply browned, crisp, and sounds hollow when tapped, 50 minutes to 1 hour. (The internal temperature should be at least
195°F/91°C on an instant-read thermometer.)
12. Tip the loaf out of the pan and set it on a wire rack to cool.
Do not slice it until fully cooled. (Store tightly wrapped at room temperature for 3 days or slice and freeze for 1 month.)

i made this very pleasant sandwich bread. now it’s all gone because i ate it all.
