Just removed the bits of "write-for-hire" stuff from my professional-facing stuff, I am now firmly an Editor only.

I still find it terrifying how 4chan ultimately laid the blueprint for modern conservatives. 4chan lead to Gamergate, which lead to Steve Bannon and Trump, and now the bulk of the Republica party talks and reasons exactly like 14 year old 4chan /pol/ users. It's so surreal to me.

Also, worthwhile to say: if you're a fanfic author, and it's a fandom I am well-acquainted with, or you're an unpublished author with original works, I do offer feedback and (sometimes) free editing if I have open availability. Friends and my clients do come first though.

It's a shame "don't feed the trolls" never really took as an internet adage. The amount of shameless grifters that just kept saying abhorrent shit, who built entire careers off of well-meaning people dunking them, is really much too high.

I do paid editing on the side these days, it's no longer my main career. That means I get a lot of freedom to pick clients and who I want to work with, and what I want to work on. It also means my policies are what I want, and I don't feel bad about missing opportunities.

Platforms should have a moral responsibility to weed out the hateful, the bigoted, and willful liars. If you let the bad actors poison the well, all real civilized discourse falls apart.

One sign that I've matured as a person is reading excellent writing and instead of fuming with anger towards the writer, celebrating and accepting how great they are. I used to be so bitter at times.

Stuck inside my own personal hell.

Sailor Neptune wandering the liminal spaces known as the pool rooms. Pictured, a long hallway extending to pitch darkness, crystal blue pool water over knee level. Neptune striding slowly, leaning toward the tile covered walls in desperation, head slumped against it and her shoulders hung in utter misery.

Don't you feel stronger now? 💪 - Aiming for the Swan Dive 🦢 Starring Lara Croft, a Tomb Raider II art commission. Happy release of Tomb Raider Collection IV-V-VI 🎉 #TombRaider #LaraCroft #TombRaiderRemastered #CrystalDynamics #Aspyrmedia #commissionsopen #artcommissions

Fanart illustration of Tomb Raider II, depicting the main protagonist Lara Croft in her classic PS1 attire. Lara is leaning forward and moving her red shades away a little in order to properly calculate the height of an out of screen waterfall in front of her. Background consists of antique ruins and slight vegetation, all lit by a heavenly warm sunlight coming from above.

KOTOR1 is one of the most satisfying games to play Dark Side, I swear. So many hilarious, dark, twisted choices.

Was talking to a writer friend, reminded me of a series of 4 fics I commissioned. Me and the writer had a contract agreed to. Two months later, she dropped her prices by about 40%. She contacts me clarifies we have an agreed to, rock solid contract, that the price won't be changing retroactively.

KOTOR 1 and 2 are infinitely replayable. I just fucking love these games. There's very little bad about them. They're rich with lore--new and old--and they just breath such life into the setting. I love the "similar but different" vibes it has compared to mainline Star Wars too.

I admire the brainless loyalty most hardcore MAGA folks hold. Trump could nominate the most incompetent person to a position of power, or sign off on an executive order that reads like it was written by a child, and they'd just smile and throw the thumbs up. "SO MUCH WINNING!"

I'm fully in support of Kojima's post-MGS career, Death Stranding was AMAZING, but I certainly miss the pre-release hype cycle of speculation around Metal Gear games.

Thinking about how Guilty Gear revealing Bridget is officially trans caused an apocalyptic meltdown in fuckheads across the internet, and how Gelbooru/Danbooru reacted so strongly they decided by fiat to continue to insist Bridget is a boy.

The fandom of Mouthwashing doesn't motivate me to play the game. Seems whenever something about the game hits my timeline, it's just inane fandom bickering. I should zero in on some real reviews.

jay gatsby and james sunderland are basically the same person. obsessive pursuit of the past, idealized views of love, self-delusion, tragic endings, isolation, arguably byronic heroes with their deeply tragic past, complexity and inner conflict
