A handful of companies own most of the perfume brands you see on the high street. Find out who they are in our guide. basenotes.com/articles/bas...

So my daughter went to college today layering Afar by Sun•Day and Cosmic 2.0 by Kylie Jenner. I told her she’s probably the first person in the world to wear that combo. 😂

Oh that’s weird why it wouldn’t load. 😭😭 Here’s the whole thing:
L'Oreal have confirmed that they have acquired a minority stake in luxury perfume house, Amouage.
Last year it was revealed that L'Oreal were reportedly in talks to do so.
Following the transaction, SABCO LLC remains Amouage's majority shareholder.
Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L'Oreal said as part of their 2024 Annual Results, "2024 was a defining year as we made L'Oréal future fit and laid many foundations for our next conquests: we augmented our marketing and R&l capabilities with Al and tech, advanced with the harmonisation of our IT, simplified our organisational structures, and strengthened our industrial and supply chain resilience. We also continued to sharpen our portfolio: we acquired the Miu Miu license and Korean brand Dr.G, and took minority stakes in Galderma and Amouage."

@immortalperfumes.bsky.social @samarperfumery.bsky.social Well, this particular nazi was Jacques Corrèze, the founder of what would become L’Oréal USA
The United States Justice Department has opened an investigation to determine whether the chairman of the $1 billion American affiliate of L'Oreal, the French cosmetics company, should be barred from the United States for his pro-Nazi activities during World War II.

The department's Office of Special Investigations is looking into whether Jacques Correze, a 79-year-old Frenchman, should be barred because of activities in groups that carried out anti-Semitic attacks.

Mr. Correze spent almost five years in a French prison after the war for his activities as a leader in several collaborationist organizations, including the underground group, known as the Cagoule, that carried out assassinations, bombings and raids on synagogues and Jewish-owned shops. Mr. Correze asserts that he never took part in any assassinations, attacks or anti-Semitic persecutions, though dcuments have been turned over to the Justice Department indicating that he took part in raids on the homes of Paris Jews.

Mr. Correze, who was instrumental in building L'Oreal's activities in the United States, now serves as chairman of Cosmair, a New York-based company that is responsible for selling L'Oreal goods in the United States. Its product lines include Lancome and Helena Rubinstein.

It looks like the website formerly known as Twitter is now showing posts in non-chronological order if you go to someones Twitter page (possibly sorted by popularity of the post) This makes it impossible to tell if someone is still posting or not (Which I'm sure is the point)

Who invented this idea that you can actually breakdown molecules by rubbing your wrists together? Here's an email I just got from a PR company quoting an 'expert' #perfumesky #fragrancesky
Myth: Rubbing your wrists together after applying perfume helps spread the scent

Many people rub their wrists together after spritzing perfume to “evenly” distribute the fragrance, but Maria warns that this can actually weaken the scent.

“Rubbing perfume into the skin breaks down the fragrance molecules, causing it to lose strength and fade faster. The friction also mixes the perfume with your skin’s natural oils, which can distort the scent.”

“Instead, it’s best to spray from about 30 cm away and let the fragrance settle on your skin naturally.”
