A web app you use sprouts new banners announcing sweeping, utterly baffling new product direction, poorly communicated and seemingly only partially implemented. A couple days later you happen to look at that company's job listing page. You see this. Ah. The first thing makes sense now.
Al as core leverage

Use Al tools extensively in your daily work for exploration, prototyping, code generation and review, debugging, research, and writing. Al fluency is not optional. It's part of how you increase your speed, depth, and impact - and you're expected to help the rest of the Tribe get better at it too.

Hello Bluesky support yes I have a bug report I keep clicking this button and there keeps being stupid shit under it.
The bluesky "Account Muted" overlay and "Show" button, which I keep clicking against my better judgment.

Watched a nice little video walking through some really nuanced design decisions and the thinking behind them that will be shipped soon to a product I use, and this was the truly remarkable top reply.
"Ah guys, why didn't you do this right from the start?"

a spam email which reads "Hi Casey, I've been following your work in C# and Clojure, and it's impressive to see how you weave those distinct languages into robust Dockerfile configurations and clean SCSS."

Oh nice, Reddit has solved my Reddit addiction for me. Thanks, Reddit!
A page blocking access to old.reddit.com, the only usable version of Reddit, unless you log in with an account, which I will not be doing.

Hmmm think I'm gonna pass on getting medical care for my human body from the company that took like 2 years to figure out how many fingers is the standard amount of fingers.

I mean I get what you are saying here but also maybe consider a second pass on the title?

Hey asshole, a *tree* fell on our *power lines*.

So many projects out there right now with commit charts that look like this (from github.com/RsyncProject...) and I'm just like...why. Why does this shit induce these sudden flurries of pointless (and usually destructive) activity in people? The project was fine before!
screenshot of GitHub commit chart showing a small number of commits for the past few years follow by a large spike in activity in early 2026.

Remarkable.
Screenshot of the Windows 11 Clock application, displaying a screen which says "Clock needs an update. We are getting the update ready for you..." next to an icon and a loading animation (and, crucially, no clock).

Typing syntax into an editor hasn't been the primary time sink for me making software since I was 6 and my hands were too small to comfortably reach the whole Commodore 64 keyboard.
Screenshot of a bsky post reading "Let me be clear, over the next year, the job of software engineer will shift dramatically to no longer have typing syntax into an editor as its primary time sink."

The "steal all your shit and rent it back to you" people offering a 6 month free trial for the stolen shit rental service to a tiny percentage of the theft victims is a bold strategy, let's see if it pays off.
A screenshot of part of a webpage reading "Thank you for everything you ship. Claude Max is on us. Open-source maintainers and contributors keep the ecosystem running. The Claude for Open Source Program is our way of saying thank you for all your hard work, with 6 months of free Claude Max 20x. Apply now.
Who should apply:
• Maintainers: You're a primary maintainer or core team member of a public repo with 5,000+ GitHub stars or1M+ monthly NPM downloads. You've made commits, releases, or PR reviews within the last 3 months.
• Don't quite fit the criteria If you maintain something the ecosystem quietly depends on, apply anyway and tell us about it. "

There’s also a third option.

Oh wow, YouTube changed the UI on the video settings panel to make it very hard to tell whether "Stable Volume" is enabled or disabled ("on" used to be bright red, now it's slightly lighter grey). So they *know* it sucks, but instead of getting rid of it they want to trick you into using it.
