In the Bronx, No. 52 will always belong to CC Sabathia.
CC Sabathia stands next to his Monument Park plaque. The full text reads as follows:

CARSTEN CHARLES SABATHIA JR.
“CC”
NEW YORK YANKEES
2009-2019

A fierce competitor and consummate teammate whose arrival in 2009 restored the Yankees to championship glory. An unyielding workhorse on the mound, Sabathia anchored the rotation for 11 seasons, earning the admiration of the Bronx faithful through his passion, leadership, and resilience.

The 2009 ALCS MVP led the Yankees to their 27th World Series title. A six-time All-Star, he recorded 134 victories in pinstripes and is just the third left-handed pitcher in baseball history to reach both 250 wins and 3,000 career strikeouts.

Beyond his statistical dominance, Sabathia was a unifying presence in the clubhouse, a loyal ambassador for the game, and a true Yankee who left it all on the field for his team and New York City.

Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025.
