Together with UZ Leuven, we welcomed Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi and his team to inaugurate the new Cardiometabolic Research Unit.🏥 Cardiovascular disease, diabetes & obesity cannot be addressed in isolation. We need integrated, person-centred care, wider screening and action from an early age. 🤝💙

On 16 December, the European Commission unveiled its long‑awaited EU Safe Hearts Plan. One of its pillars focuses on early detection and screening, including the development of an EU protocol for health checks. This is a milestone EUDF and the diabetes community have advocated for over many years.
