Horrible development. Skipping ads is only skipping one of up to three ads, the rest still play.

YouTube unprompted gave me furry ASMR as an ad. Okay YouTube, actually why is a person paying for ad space for their asmr videos lol. It didn't strike out to be any more unique then anything else.

30 minute roblox video as an ad.

Someone mentioned to me on discord about getting political ads and the very next ad I got was for some political YouTuber. Google why are you trying to torture me.

Making sure to SKIP that normal Walmart AD as fast as I can so the algorithm knows I want more ads like the target demo video that clearly wasn't meant to be used.

bartekzech @bartthezech2.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Right now I have an ad that's just showing a music video with a women blasting lasers from her uh "chest area"(me trying to be sfw)?

bartekzech @bartthezech2.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

There has been one ad I actually liked for some horror thing. It was actually pretty creative and I think it was for a movie or series. It was also clearly an ad and showed me something cool. I will boost this one whenever I see it.

bartekzech @bartthezech2.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I am skipping them but after I look at them which google must think I love

100

bartekzech @bartthezech2.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Another music ad, this time I see the word "subscribe" in a way that it looks like a scammy pop up which must be counterproductive lol. some of these youtuber ads are barebones in a way where I think the YouTubers didn't set it up correctly? Oh god me not skipping these must be causing more help

bartekzech @bartthezech2.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Oh now that I'm looking at these ads I realized this one song that I was starting to hate over how often I was hearing it was also a YouTube video ad. Like, this one played so constantly that I was getting the affect of hating a song due to overexposure.

bartekzech @bartthezech2.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Nothing else is happening here. Is this not meant to show up as an ad or is Target doing experimental ads. Or is google doing experiments on me lmao?

100

bartekzech @bartthezech2.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I'm getting second life vtuber ads now. The horror youtuber ads stopped at least. This one doesn't even feel like an ad? Just a full two jour YouTube video that's playing? It says they're sponsored so I assume they paid for these to be ads.

bartekzech @bartthezech2.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Has anyone else been seeing a bunch of ads for YouTube channels? Some of these have been a bit annoying since they seem to not care about jumpscare audio lol. I've seen this stuff before but I got ads for different channels back to back today. I guess Google is experimenting this on me lmao?

Hot take but, they've built an internet where the easiest way to make money is by being cruel and it needs to be replaced. When abuse and bullying are rewarded with attention, and attention is rewarded with money, the system itself is broken It's an internet that has fundamentally failed

Umm, I haven't played too much but you can basically really mess around. You can try to run and gun or try to hack through everywhere or likeeee hijack enemy bodies and use them for your objectives. I'm not very far into it I just wanted to share because it's fun.
