This is great and I'm very excited about it. My additional wish is that the unsaved parts of the Lochside trail south of Royal Oak be paved. It's dusty in the summer, muddy in the winter, and definitely holding back usage.

I totally agree. There's two points. First, the very real risk of indefinite ICE detainment is ignored and, second, the risk of terrorism in those European countries is far lower than common risks of traffic fatalities, shootings, etc in the US. I wish those advisories were more "by the numbers".

Despite biking to Paris, we opted to explore the city on foot and via transit. I was amazed how quiet Paris was. Not due to a lack of people, just a lack of cars, compared to North American cities. It was so much nicer than I expected.

Thanks. I didn't even realize they were working on the trestle. I thought it was just some underwater cable replacement. I doubt the rest of the work will be so easily missed but it will definitely be worth the temporary hassles.

Has it really started? The project page on the CRD site says it's supposed to start in spring of 2026, and I haven't see any construction. I'm really glad this is coming soon. I wish the rest of the Lochside trail would be paved; that would make a huge difference for my commute.
