This will come to pass. As a boomer at the tail end of boomers I will be between a rock and a hard place as someone living an active transportation lifestyle. In 10 years I will begin to slow down and be less likely to be able to get out of their line of sight when they begin driving on sidewalks.

In the mid 1970s I used to listen on the amateur radio band discussions because there was a lot of intellectual thought in the stream. It was a way for me to learn more about the world beyond my small isolated French nationalist town. It is what inspired my fascination with ham radio.

After I passed my amateur radio exam the examiner told me it could take 6-8 weeks before I receive my certification licence, issued by Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada. That feels like an unreasonable inefficient process. Then I remembered I've been waiting 50 years. No biggie.
