The Ocarina of Time remake is so weird... like some things look ok, while some stuff looks absolutely fucked up like Zelda and Link. The voice acting is usual modern nintendo Ick, and I want it gone because it's so modern anime. The jump button and size of the world is fucked. What a weird remake.

Every post I see about how Duskbloods should have been single-player makes me so upset. It ends up feeling like people are complaining that Fromsoft doesn't pigeonhole themselves into making the same experiences every time. They made two multiplayer focused games, and suddenly FromSoft is done!?

Everytime they show the new Castlevania game it looks more and more like Hades visually and I just get completely pulled out. Add that the platforming and action just don't look right for CV and I kinda just don't feel myself pulled to it. Shafting Sonia is the cherry on top with that design...

Weapon breaking is legit poorly thought out. It only matters in the first like 20 hours of 200+ hour games, when you have limited weapon space, and they break in 5 hits you have unlimited inventory for items, and weapons eventually become nigh unbreakable. It adds nothing to the game after a point

Every time I see the Sonic Advance trilogy it makes me really upset that the evolution of 2D sonic wasn't to take what that series gave to sonic and keep going from there. There were so many good ideas, and it sucks that the direction for 2D sonic since has been to move backward.

I really wish Park Beyond wasn't such an unpolished jank mess. My favorite theme park tycoon game was Bullfrog's Theme Park World, and I wish more theme park tycoon games would try to evoke the silly side like that one did, but they all go for the grounded style of RCT and it makes me upset.

I'm listening to the Scott Pilgrim EX soundtrack and I really want to like it because I love the original game and it's music so much. But it just doesn't have the sauce man... compared to the original where it felt like the soundtrack could survive on it's own as a chiptune album, this isn't it.

Like in the sense that it attempts to be more modern hip than actually genuinely cool. Which is hard to describe but compared to 90s~2000s. The approach changed too much

I just do not jell with any of the new Pokémon starters... the art direction for Pokémon has shifted in a way I just don't like. I feel like the prime example of this is looking at Pikachu over the years becoming more and more round like Pichu. The homogonous round designs suck me way out.

Metroidvania as a genre has become one of the worst in terms of getting across what the games in it even are anymore. Especially given that most of the games people dump into that genre play, neither like Metroid or Igavanias. Every day, I think the original Search Action genre title fits more.

Was thinking about the idea of them bringing Sonia Belmont back to the Castlevania series by placing her in that 400 year gap in-between Leon and Trevor's points in the timeline. They could do some easy adjustments to her story too in order for it to still work out.

I finally beat Final Fantasy 8 for the first time last night. Man what an interesting but ungodly messy game. The story feels like it's moving a mile a minute without giving time to anything and all the CGI scenes are fucking immaculate. But the actual gameplay is the breaking point.

Over time, with pokemon, especially as the character customization got bigger, I feel like I always see people focus on the trainers/humans more than the actual Pokemon. Like the vast majority of what I see or heard about ScaVio, and now Legends ZA barely goes over the pokemon now. Kinda upsetting

New Kirby Air Riders looks so good. Everything about it evoked so much of the kind of weirdness and uniqueness that Air Ride had back in the day. It makes me really hope that Kirby going forward after this looks to the game as inspiration for a lot of world building and other things.

I decided to sit down and beat all of Dark Souls 3 again, DLC and all. It's still a truly amazing game. Makes me really hope FromSoft definitely goes back to a more focused level design than Elden Ring's open world. I can definitely feel that I have gotten way better at these games.

Honestly, the Nightreign solo rune change might be a bit too much. Like I am sitting over here reaching the max level really easily. Like, I don't even know how they would rebalance it. It just feels way too easy to get souls in comparison to multiplayer it feels like.
