Anatomy of a Word
The human body has parts that work together, a word has an anatomy too!
Words are built from vowels and consonants. Vowels—a, e, i, o, u, and sometimes y—help form the heart of a syllable. Consonants join with vowels to shape the sounds we hear and say.
