Not really a story, but I just wanted to say that while I was uncertain about this set from the previews, the actual limited was a blast! I built a R/U spellslinger deck with the red ajani and empower jace as a top end and the deck put in work. Every deck I went up against were also neat. Great set.

Had to take Collected Conjuring out of my lilah deck because it either hit no sorceries, or hit only sorcery cards with cmc 4 or greater. It happened often enough that my play group asked me if it ever didn't whiff.
 Collected Conjuring {2}{U}{R}

Sorcery

Exile the top six cards of your library. You may cast up to two sorcery spells with mana value 3 or less from among them without paying their mana costs. Put the exiled cards not cast this way on the bottom of your library in a random order.

The problem is, we only ever got the one set with battles, and they didn't really work together all that well. But I hope if they come back they lean into the fact that multiple players can attack them in some way, the political aspect of that deck was really fun when players engaged with it. 2/2🧵

I built a battles deck around the twelfth doctor with susan foreman as his partner, the deck was focused on using the twelfth doctor's demonstrate ability as a political tool to get players to either attack or allow my attacks to hit battles in exchange for a copy of the flip side. 1/2🧵
Image shows a magic card titled: "The Twelfth Doctor" It is a 4/4 Legendary Creature - Time Lord Doctor for 3UR
It has: The first spell you cast from anywhere other than your hand each turn has demonstrate. (When you cast that spell, you may copy it. If you do, choose an opponent to also copy it. A copy of a permanent spell becomes a token.)

Whenever you copy a spell, put a +1/+1 counter on The Twelfth Doctor.The image shows a Magic card titled "Susan Foreman". It is a 1/1 Legendary Creature - Time Lord for {1}{G}.
It has:If you would planeswalk, instead look at the top two cards of your planar deck, put one on the bottom of your planar deck and the other on top, then planeswalk.

{T}: Add {G}.

Doctor’s companion (You can have two commanders if the other is the Doctor.)

I've been seeing more toxic/unhinged comments on youtube videos in general lately. Feels like it might be bots.

But Kurbis will always keep a special place in my heart. For everyone else, Kurbis is a dinky, forgettable dollar rare in a forgettable precon. But for me and the people I played against, he was a simple yet unique commander that could pose a serious threat rather quickly. So he is my favourite.

Kurbis ended up helming a surprisingly powerful deck, keeping up with stronger archetypes like slivers, or out aggroing more powerful commanders like krenko. Eventually, my playgroup invested in much higher budget and power decks until kurbis stopped being able to keep up.

I built a very simple, tight deck focused on counter generation and providing evasion for my green creatures. Kurbis was incredibly useful as a creature I could always cast if i had nothing better to do, that could always be useful. He was also incredibly easy to pump up to lethal commander damage.

Reasons I love kurbis: +He is always cast with p/t on rate +He seems incredibly underwhelming, so he is easily underestimated +He provides 2G for devotion +He enters with +1/+1 counters +He is a very easily overlooked combat trick and political tool +Innistrads treefolk lore is rad AF

Apparently I should post something so that people i follow don't think I'm a bot? I have nothing interesting to say, so I'm just gonna post my favourite MTG commander, that no one else cares about. Kurbis, my beloved.
