I’ve been making stuff lately but it’s not games stuff. Quilting and bookbinding and learning more visible mending stitches and making lanterns out of glass slides.

Here to inform you I have never ceased my bullshit, but hey you can make printable fabric with freezer paper and an ancient sheet and print Godzilla on it if you want.

In someone’s lap a quilted tapestry of Godzilla surrounded by floral patterns

I enjoy low stakes drama so my favorite thing this week is the guy with a TikTok viral song who is like “checkmate atheists, this is a praise song about Jesus” and like…it’s a really fucking gay song.

I have fallen into a spell and just keep making these quilted tapestries. This doesn’t even account for the 3 that are waiting to be finished and bound.

A shot of the floor and a tortoiseshell cat walking across a grouping of 9 blue tapestries.

Do I know any folks obsessed with mid century furniture? I just acquired a dresser and chiffarobe set from an estate sale that I love but I am incredibly curious as to where it comes from.

Sometimes having craft hobbies that are also grandma hobbies means that when you go to pick up an antique armoire from an estate sale the person just gives you a functional treadle Singer because no one else wanted it.

We're not trying to be contrarian, this is just our deal. Our first piece on GTA 6 will run in 2027 and it's going to be like "GTA 6 is a failed simulacra of Baudrillard and Lynch's nightmares". Lots of people who like games and pop culture stuff aren't going to be playing this game.

My @papershoot.bsky.social camera, which I take out regularly and which is (clearly) taking the toll of time. (The pink band is gaffer tape)

An acrylic cut case for a papershoot camera, held in a hand. The bottom of the camera is held together with pink tape. The back corner is glued back together. It is missing a screw

The front of the camera - clear case showing functioning interior workings. The bottom is a gaffer taped band and it is missing a screw

My latest quilted tapestry - a block made of cyanotyped fabric based on photos I shot at local indie wrestling shows.

A quilted block on grass. The block is a central image of a man stretched across the top rope of a wrestling ring, surrounded by a smaller ring of cyanotype blue and white blocks

A close up shot of the corner of the quilt block showing small precise stitching on the binding and a more detailed shot of the wrestlers in ring.
