Some guy on the internet. Books, Comics, Board Games, some screaming into the void, a little climate and political doom here and there. Skeets in English, Deutsch, or Denglisch. Austria he/him

Mein momentaner TBR-Stapel. Innerhalb meiner Genregrenzen mittlerweile halbwegs divers, aber historisch gesehen hab ich schon sehr männerlastig gelesen. Ich arbeite dran.

Ein Stapel Bücher:
Prophet Song - Paul Lynch
There is no Antimemetics Division - qntm
Deshalb kann ich nicht fort - Aiki Mira
What moves the dead - T Kingfisher
The Westing Game - Ellen Raskin
Hild & Menewood - Nicola Griffith
Chain Gang All Stars - Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah
Revolutionary Demonology - Gruppo di Nun
When there are Wolves again - E. J. Swift
The Hainish Novels and Stories - Ursula K. LeGuin

ANDRE THE GIANT
"I don't like to speak badly of people. I have grown up thinking and being told that if you cannot say something nice about someone, you should not say anything at all. But I must break that rule in this case because I hate Hulk Hogan very much. He is a big ugly goon and I want to squash his face."

I just wanted to order the Power Fantasy, but that damn impulse control...

Discworld Reread #4 - Mort Starting the theme of Dᴇᴀᴛʜ just wants to live a little. Dude just wanting to cook perfect eggs and hang with cats instead of doing his day job is very relatable.

Two versions of Mort by Terry Pratchett. On the left German Gevatter Tod, Heyne 1994. On the right Mort, Orion 2013.

My computer doesn't even have a CD drive anymore, but I have held on to this for almost 30 years now.

Discworld Reread #3 - Equal Rites Yeah, equal rights sound like a good idea. That Pratchett guy was on to something there in 1987.

Discworld Reread, #2 The Light Fantastic Starting to cohere, there's already a lot to like here. The Cohen/Bethan thing could easily have been icky, but Pratchett manages to keep it rather sweet, really. The German edition from 1995 collects The Light Fantastic and Equal Rites. 💙📚👀

Two editions of The Light Fantastic. Current English Hardcover from 2014 on the left, German collected edition from 1995 named "Die Scheibenwelt" on the right.

Die Zeit ist reif für einen Discworld Reread. Angefangen mit The Colour of Magic, erstmals im Original. Proto-Discworld, sehr viel direkte Parodie (Leiber, Howard, Lovecraft, Vance), wenig Struktur. Meine alte deutsche Ausgabe von 1995 hat leider keine Suppenwerbung mehr. 📚💙

Zwei Discworld Bücher. Links "Die Farben der Magie" Heyne 1995 mit Josh Kirby cover und vieräugigem Zweiblum. Rechts das aktuelle Hardcover "The Colour of Magic" Orion 2014. Im Hintergrund weitere Discworld Bücher

For Pratchett, there's a few ways to go about it. Just don't do publication order, The Color of Magic and The Light Fantastic are rather different from the later books. Small Gods is a nice standalone to check out if you like the style. For Gaiman, I still maintain that he peaked with Sandman.
