Hearing about Bulls icon Stacey King's passing on my bday (6/7) was a gut punch. He was a beloved icon in Chicago and brought so much joy to me over the years. He did a bday tribute to my brothers and acknowledged the passing of my brother. I hope Stacey is somewhere higher than D-Rose was w Dragic.

This is a cold civil war. There is no more territory to expand as a release valve, there’s no Kansas-Nebraska Acts and more Indians to force onto reservations; the only frontiers are inward and slave power is forcing its hand to tilt the scales while it still can.

51 years later since the Vietnam War, the mission is still unfinished. In this episode of The Banh Mi Chronicles, I spoke w/ Hung Nguyen, a retired Viet American who spent years helping families reclaim the bodies of US soldiers for decades. Watch here: randykim.substack.com/p/51-years-l...

In the wake of the current ICE raids, I sat down with Kala for an essential conversation on staying vigilant, protecting our communities, and finding solidarity in times of fear. Listen here: randykim.substack.com/p/emergency-drop-how-to-stay-vigilant #CommunityCare #MutualAid
The first image features a quote about fear: "Yes, I'm afraid. And if people are not afraid, that is very concerning. It's important to listen to that fear. But it is more important for us to remind ourselves that we are not those emotions. We are the awareness behind those emotions."The second image features a quote about community: "It is of vast importance for us to find community and joy in these times, especially for people of global majority, where we have always put others first... It is not charity. It is solidarity. It is recognizing that sometimes I will carry you because you carry me."
