think I might go to the free Pokemon local tomorrow with Sharpedo

it's like 90% staples, relax

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

why does every deck I want to build paper use Hero's Cape 🥲

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

I blame my Fighting type affinity on that I learned the game with the Mega Lucario ex pre-con on PTCGL

011

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

Fighting Toucannon is actually a blast

100

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

In a post-Dragapult world, this deck doesn't lose much in Pokemon (Latias) but gets ripped up in Trainers (Cyrano, Bianca, Colress, Crispin, Hero's Cape, Lively Stadium).

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Was explaining to my spouse this morning how meta-warping Dragapult is on this format. That block is a great example of how.

100

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

This is the build I've been playing with. Not 100% sold on it (though never complaining about a reason to use regular Fez), but it's been great fun. The [Clefairy / Fez / Crispin / 1 P / 1 D] block I know is there for Pult, but it's deeply lackluster (thus far, IME) against everything else.

Audino is not consistent but it sure is fun

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

what a shame that ACE SPECs are gonna cycle out before Hero's Cape gets a reasonable reprint

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

why are there so many cool pokemon decks. how am I supposed to build in these conditions.

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 02/07/2026

Starmie Dragapult feels inherently evil

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

I'm not thrilled with the current direction of Sharpedo... I have I think five or six open card slots, but I'm not sure what I want to do with them. I also think I'm a touch high on monster count, but since I don't want to add more supporters, it'll need to be items coming in. Dusk Balls maybe?

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

metal has so many good deck options right now, damn

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

that top 16 Dark Box deck is WILD

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

got Steven's Metagross updated for Chaos Rising (finally), now working on Sharpedo

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

HIJ would be a much cooler and wider format if not for Dragapult specifically. I know some players like them, but (imo) gatekeeper tier 1s aren't great for TCGs.

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

the speed at which pokemon card sellers ship is hard countered by that they package cards the way a five year old wraps a present: badly and in a way that will likely damage the contents.

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 26/05/2026

Pokémon Unbound is so, so cool

I'm also pretty close on Mega Sharpedo and Teal Mask Meganium... Diancie Dusknoir has more to go than I thought, though.

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 09/05/2026

✅️ complete Mega Lucario ❔️ complete Steven's Metagross ❔️ go to a casual local

100

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

That deck is gonna have some longevity, btw. The vast majority of the core cards are set group I.

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

Precious Trolley feels like too much of a win button to not play with Steven's Metagross.

100

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

Thankfully, I feel pretty alright about the direction of the Metagross deck... just need the actual cards.

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

I don't want to go full Tox Box on Sharpedo — I think that's more efficient with Absol — so I need to refine a little bit on Pokemon lineup and the last of my trainer cards.

110

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

Lucario's on Carmines and Max Belt, which I'm just not feeling. Scoop-Up almost feels best (if not Unfair Stamp, obviously), but I'm not sure how I want to fill the remaining space.

100

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

think I need to modify my Lucario build a bit, and then get to work on finishing Sharpedo and Steven's Metagross.

110

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 01/05/2026

there's gotta be a way to really crack Steven's Metagross open. the energy acceleration is SUPER strong, and there are some really strong individual Psychic and Metal Pokemon right now, but it's not quite gas yet, you know?

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 01/05/2026

every time I play Mega Lucario, I think I'm gonna get a little bored (just because it plays pretty straightforwardly)... but then I play Hariyama and it's instant dopamine

100

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 12/04/2026

slapping down three Premium Power Pros to knock out a three-prizer and win the game

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 08/04/2026

Psychic seems like it's in a pretty good place right now. Lillie's Clefable, Latias, Munkidori, Diancie, TR's Mewtwo, Hop's Trevenant, etc. type well against most of the top.

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 08/04/2026

Is it strange of me to say that I don't think a Pokemon deck can be top-tier right now if it can't either 1) damage/knock out multiple Pokemon per turn, or 2) always be in control of what they're knocking out. Does that make any sense?

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 08/04/2026

I've ordered Solrocks and received Lunatones twice now... I have so many Lunatones and no Solrocks.

000

Misty's Gyarados is for Lightsworn players

010

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 04/04/2026

Am I crazy or is Psychic still really, really good after rotation

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 02/04/2026

you shouldn't get into modern Yugioh because Konami doesn't even want you playing modern Yugioh

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 27/03/2026

Mega Lucario, Mega Venusaur, and Dragapult decks coming along swimmingly 👀

001

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 25/03/2026

what I would give for some theory about Supporter ratios, that's very easily the thing I feel most uncomfortable with in the PTCG.

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 24/03/2026

just a few Pokémon cards in the mail today

001

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 24/03/2026

It's really jarring how different Pokémon TCG youtube content is from Yugioh. 1) Few non-live replays because PTCGL doesn't have a replay system. 2) Deck lists are digital card lists/icons with quantities on them. 3) Damn does it feel more positive.

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

ngl it's really bizarre that PTCGL doesn't have a replay system

001

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

I have decks started for Mega Sharpedo and Mega Lucario that I'm certain I want to finish, plus a deck started for Mega Heracross (that may or may not become Mega Venusaur?). Also looking at some kind of Dark/Psychic build for Umbreon, Espeon, and Diancie... and one for Alakazam. Help.

000

Bam @bammaxtcg.bsky.social · 17/03/2026

Deck comp is definitely my Pokemon weak spot right now, but I think that'll come with time. Ratios, particular trainers, etc. need the familiarity of practice and play.
