My cousin was 2 years older and at least 5' 6" tall at 12. He was the only family member willing to take me trick or treating when I was still little. He dressed up as a hobo. And got scolded occasionally.

Just watched that Steve Hilton ad. Am I the only one who thought it was funny? Easy to know it was about voting for Hilton once you knew it was a campaign ad. Me thinks it will be the male pundits & politicians who find it offensive 'cause it is 2 beautiful young women not needing a male for sex.

I've been either retired or semi-retired for years and that's still true. Sunday also has its own flavor.

It wasn't giving up. It was following the law as interpreted by our corrupt courts. Only the Legislative branch could have intervened during a lame duck session, but they wouldn't. I, too, doubt that anyone will ever be held accountable. The corruption is too pervasive.

It was her vote that saved him at trial when he was impeached by the Texas Legislature. She is as corrupt as he is. If he loses & Abbott loses, Ken Paxton is going to jail & her with him.

That is actually the plan. A Great Depression will finish off the US. There is no FDR & SCOTUS would block anything that a Democratic President and Congress would do.

Will anyone be surprised if it turns out ICE is a huge trafficking organization? Too many children are left unprotected by their actions.

I think Trump should own his Memorial Arch, place it on one of his golf courses and donate it to the public. Then an appointed Board of Trustees could vote to blow it up. There was nothing unfixable & not addressed with the Kennedy Center before Trump & it will survive him.

Baltcate @baltcate.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Do you not understand the concept of a public memorial? One with legal governance by Congress? Giving in to the Traitor in chief accomplishes nothing. Instead, the Board needs to be prosecuted for malfeasance by act of Congress, so it's not left to Trump's DOJ.

Bought a lb of cantaloupe chunks (because it is cheaper than a whole cantaloupe), tomatoes, & grapes. Close to $15 for the 3 items & I know it was a splurge.

Call me crazy, but can't Democrats issue articles of impeachment for Trump & his entire cabinet for the misuse of funds allocated by Congress? Each of them has diverted funds for vanity & corruption. Easy to prove, easy for the public to understand. KISS principle applies.

I would have boycotted Starbucks last year, but they were the only option besides really terrible ward or cafeteria coffee when hubby was hospitalized last year for weeks. My hospital days at bedside required huge amounts of caffeine to juggle ICU, home, work. Back to normal now, so no Starbucks.

Not necessarily. Remember, as a PPC & woman, any interaction with the police can be life-threatening. Risk/Reward not in balance.

I bust out laughing at Sen Collins statement. How can anyone rely on the statements of a convicted felony? I don't know, Susan, but you sure do when it comes to Trump. And though not convicted, Kavanaugh's past was certainly "felon adjacent & clearly you believed him over other credible evidence.

No. Bad comparison. Jeffries' position currently is a leader of the opposition party. Mamdani is the mayor of a single city, acting as host to the President on his official visit. Kushner is a corrupt, unelected advisor to the President with no accountability. Jeffries needed to reject him publicly

In the beginning of Kaitlyn Collins' tenure at CNN, I wasn't a fan, but now, after a few years, wow. She grew into the job & refuted her critics by her willingness to learn & grow. I am a true fan now. She will continue to become a great journalist in the years to come if CNN doesn't become CBS.

So the network reporters from the only network proven to have lied about the 2020 election remain in the White House press area while the honest ones are expelled. Only to Trump does this make sense.

How about the next Congress establishes a rule that the Speaker can't dismiss the House on his own authority nor can the House be shut down for business more than 15 consecutive days with at least 45 days required before the next vacation.

Sadly, tax dollars were used to build, modernize, & maintain many of these venues. So while free speech can be restricted by stadium owners, it's another instance of the billionaires deciding who gets to be heard because of sweetheart deals with the government they own.

All Board Members actually are required to serve with the organization's best interests in mind. The Trump appointees ought to be sued for breaching their duty & for monetary damages. A DC jury would have no trouble getting justice.

The trustees had a duty to act in the Kennedy Center's best interest. Someone with standing needs to haul their butts into court to get them removed & paying damages. Slam dunk if you review the annual financial documents pre- & post- this Trump appointed Board.

I really hate saying this, but it appears all the $ Repubs are pouring into senate races is swaying some voters. That tells me is that Republicans are both stupid & deplorable. Stupid to accept political advertising as enough basis to choose a candidate & deplorable since the beginning of Trump.

I believe age has much to do with where you live if you are a millionaire. If you have school-age kids & expect them to live at home then you don't choose FL or TX because the good private schools are pricey & mainly religious based. If your child is special needs, again, blue states fit better.

Perfect example of why unions are important. If employees from corporate middle-management down unionize, if the company moves, some of the worst changes can be mitigated.

When I see a drop of 500+points in the Dow, I wonder if this is the one that starts the coming free fall. So far, the wealthy investors keep propping each other up to keep their paper wealth intact. At some point, the misery imposed by the top 1% on the rest of us reaches them. The tumbrils await.

How times have changed. Now my lottery fever dream leans towards having my own greenhouse where I could grow lettuce, vegetables, & fruit trees instead of trusting food from outside my control to be safe. Of course that dream comes with a full-time botanist & gardeners for perfect results.

Took them occasionally in college. A friend would bring baggies full back from his visits home as his Dad was a Dr. I remember them fondly, but moderation was key in those crazy years. I get how lucky I was to just walk away after those college days & again in the mid 80s when coke was everywhere

If you need to ask why many rely on the internet as news sources, today's violent attack on Amy Cton, candidate for Ohio Governor, check out how long it took for even a banner headline to make it to the screen on CNN. Meanwhile, what I assume is a repeat of a weekday MSNOW show airs uninterrupted.

We may have ended child employment by industries (meat-packing aside), but we just made the government the main employer through mandatory school but gave fewer choices about how the day is spent. Yes, just like prisoners, children mandated to remain in place through mealtime deserve free food.

Constitutional amendment needed for a method to recall Senators & Congressmen. Can't make it an easy method, but something besides removal by peers should be available. Fetterman & McConnell are obvious test cases.

Better all those "donors" for his ballroom pay. Along with the reflecting pool contractor & everyone else who got kickbacks. Add to that those who he pardoned for bribes paying the equivalent, it should be more than enough.

I am sure we will see the release of a strongly worded letter addressed to both Reps. Jeffries has been weakened after word got out about his meeting with Kushner. The Dem Reps smell blood in the water and will be jockeying for position from now until December when we know if the majority is Dem.
