I guess it KIND OF worked, homemade waffles... I really need to borrow a waffle iron. Look, tiny-size kompeito is a similar to Belgian pearl sugar. So why import it from Amazon when yoou can get it "at home" from an Asian Market?

Batter baked at 300 F for 13 min, then airfried at 370 F for 4 minutes. Decent browning, but doesn't quite taste "Waffle".

Tiny-sized Japanese kompeito candy is similar in size to Belgian pearl sugar. Just crush it a little if you get the bigger sized kompeito.

I'm making Liege waffs! But I couldn't find the Lars Belgian pearl sugar, so I uused kompeito from the Asian market. :c Also we don't have a waffle iron or a deep fryer, so we're baking it.

Waffle batter so thick, it's like cake batter. The dough is filled with tiny Japanese sugar crystal candies, instead of the Belgian sugar that's off to the side.
