The other day I posted a few two-year-old foggy photos from a hike around Hveragerði. These were taken in almost the same locations, except this time just after it had snowed. #photos #iceland #nature #hiking

This is now happening multiple times a day on iOS and iPadOS. Controls disappearing randomly (it’s not just in the wrong colour, there is nothing there to respond to your touch). Happens the most in Safari but been seeing it elsewhere as well

Here's a photo I took right towards the tail-end of the 2008 financial bubble in Iceland, when it was more lucrative for investors to buy up properties on the Laugavegur/Bankastræti shopping street, drive out the stores, and just let the real estate price increases roll in Didn't last

An empty store window is full of flyers. A bit further down the road you can see a sign for a watchmaker and goldsmith and a bit further down there's Austurstræti

A few photos I shot in 2008 that I'm unreasonably fond of. The first is a photo of the shop window for the used book store in Hverfisgata. Second is of the original Kaffistofa in Hverfisgata run by Samhjálp, a free kitchen for the needy. Third is of a mannequin in a shop front.

Had a go at reworking a photo that I've reworked before but this time using Spektrafilm. First version was done using a web app called Saulala. Second done with CaptureOne using one of the Fujifilm-provided colour profiles. Third done with Spektrafilm using, fittingly, their Fujifilm C200 emulation

Took this photo last week. Shows why you sometimes need rain gear when hiking around town even when there isn't rain.
A geothermal well spews a big steam cloud. Part of it rains down on the path. Along the path we see Alaskan lupine and buttercup flowers. On the other side of the river three people are riding their horses.

Went on a day trip to Borgarnes this week. The highlight was the café Kaffi Kyrrð. Also went to the Settlement Exhibition in the Settlement Center which was so old the videos were in standard definition. But a nice town and a great trip Of course, I only photographed the rustier sides of the town

Almost forgot to add the photos themselves. These are from a new path that was made in the reforestation area to the north of the town to a small grove called Ísakslundur that wasn't really accessible before

A path through some trees. On one side we see a sign with the word "Ísakslundur" which means translates to "Isaac's Grove" in English. A few of the tree stumps to one side have been carved into mushroom shapes
A closer view of the mushroom stumps.
Behind the new path is an older, disused path so there must have been another path leading up there at some point.
Once you walk down that path you get to a field that is covered with buttercup flowers

Black and white take two.
The same photo of a bench in a field in fog, again using ACROS black and white film emulation from Fujifilm but with more exposure adjustment and a bit of a contrast adjustment using the curves tool.

I had a go this weekend at simply using in-camera processing for my photos because the Linux-based photo tools are kinda garbage. But the in-camera tools aren't fantastic either, so even minimal editing in CaptureOne on top of the built-in Fujifilm tone curves really can make a big difference.
First off, we have a JPG as delivered by the Fujifilm camera. It's of fog over a field with a couple of lone trees and a bench. In the background we see the roots of a mountain. It's kind of a flat image
The same photo, still using the same tone curve offered by Fujifilm, just with a bit of an exposure adjustment and a saturation boost on the greens. It is not flatAgain, the same photo, again using a tone curve from Fujifilm except this time it's their ACROS black and white film emulation, some exposure adjustment. The image looks very moody, though it is probably darker than it should be
