Do you really "love debate" or are you just entertained by the aesthetic of conflict?

All humans deserve quality health care. Denying trans people access to health care is basically declaring that they aren't as human as everyone else. It's simple.

Can only speak for myself, but going no contact was my best option. They didn't treat me like my own person, just an extension of their own story. I was expected to only be what they needed me to be. Everything else I am is, to them, extraneous and unnecessary. Leaving only made this more clear.

"Gracious" is far too charitable for a ghoul like Stevens. AIPAC dumped as much money as they could into her lying, disingenuous, idpol campaign just for someone with way less name recognition and resources to win. She's a snake & Michigan dodged *this* bullet. Hopefully Abdul can make adjustments.

As someone who estranged from abusive parents, it sure looks like the world needs to estrange from the US. If the US refuses to change, refuse the US. The longer everyone tolerates the bullshit and appeases them, the longer it will go on. That's all there is to it. Very simple dynamics at play here.

Heyhi #Booksky and #litfic fans! Chapter 5 is now up! An ad in the paper, for a ring found on the victim's corpse, brings quite the interesting guest round to Baker Street... Even the great #Sherlock #Holmes seems perplexed! Who could it be? 🔎 🔗👇

My partner and I take turns being the telescope and the microscope. Unless we swap perspectives every now and again, we just keep zooming in or out without being aware of it. I'm blessed to have someone like her to count on.

It also just helps to mentally take the mic away from them, because showing them their impotence sincerely does the most psychic damage, by far.

Don't argue with them. It's better to talk directly to anyone that happens to stumble into the replies. Give that person something other than what the troll's selling. THEN block and move on. That way 1) trolls feel ignored and irrelevant, 2) you get to educate others AND 3) you protect your peace.

You're so right. Wow. Smart and funny too. Anyone else reading this: Don't be like this guy. There's no need to jump down someone's throat just bc they don't already know something. We're all coming to the table w/ different levels of understanding. Arguing w/ randos on Bluesky won't help that.

BalcoBooks @balcobooks.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

This post that we're commenting on is literally doing that & made more of a stink than I ever could have with a single comment. You're LARPing political action by tone policing on social media. And I'm one of the people that agree with you! I hope for your sake you aren't this insufferable offline.

100

BalcoBooks @balcobooks.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

You could have made this an educational moment, and yet you've made it adversarial. I'm sure this is the majority of your interactions with people. Unfortunate.

BalcoBooks @balcobooks.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

I literally just said his name and his occupation. That's hardly propping him up. If you don't like him, campaign against him! It doesn't help to not know who he is and what he's done. What's your preference? Letting him blend into the background? What else should I do, O great arbiter of language?

I looked him up briefly and I didn't see any immediate red flags. I don't know everything nor presume to be perfect, but you did a good job educating me. L I didn't give him any "PR," I simply informed about his name and a cursory fact or two. Everything else I said was accurate, without judgement.
