In 2020, the Canadian federal government determined that the MINIMUM $ required to live in Canada at the time was $2,000. The current MAX federal disability benefit in 2026 is $1,741.20. AND the cost of living (what a term) for disabled people is 30+%. What are we doing. @liberalca.bsky.social

Canadian and specifically Canadian owned and even more specifically Canadian publicly owned media is one of if not the most important pillars of Canadian democracy. We need to lean on it and work very hard to strengthen it after the U.S. has made every effort over decades to erode it.

For young Canadians who weren’t there- when Trudeau won a Liberal majority after years of Harper’s Conservative government, it was as much of a relief as when Biden won, with as much joy and optimism as if Kamala had won. Trudeau revived a lot of people’s hope in a Canada where love wins.
