Counterpoint to this: I stopped to help a cycling colleague with a flat tire on my way home yesterday. I ride with a couple of spares and a hand pump so got him going again in like 10 minutes, preventing the dreaded "wife pick-up in Blanch".

A part of my vacuum cleaner broke while it was within the 5 year warranty so I reached out to the manufacturer and they shipped me the part from the UK. Now Irish DPD and customs are holding the part saying they will only waive customs fees if I had sent the broken part for assessment first?
