Hmm, interesting. I just alerted a company to a massive exposure where user accounts could be accessed. It was accessible via url with no passwords needed. It exposed people's AI chats, .env files, databases, codebases. And I too was ignored until I chased down the CEO on social media.

The security industry broadly, as well as the US federal government specifically, considers data to be exposed if it could be accessed by people who are not intended to have access-particularly if it is reachable on the open internet without being protected by an authentication requirement, such as a username and password. "Exposure is the state in which personal or sensitive data has been left accessible, discoverable, or otherwise put at risk of unauthorized access, whether or not anyone has yet taken or misused it," says Mark Beare, head of consumer products at the security company Malwarebytes. "A publicly reachable database backup, a misconfigured storage bucket, or credentials sitting in a system that a researcher can reach are all exposures."

Without Caruso on the ballot, a Democrat flipped his House seat in the Palm Beach district — which includes President Trump's home at Mar-a-Lago — during a March special election.
Caruso made headlines in early 2025 as DeSantis and Republican lawmakers clashed over immigration legislation. He was the sole ally with the governor, voting against the competing bill proposed by state House Republicans.
DeSantis described him as a "legend" and "my representative Mike Caruso" at a press conference shortly after the vote, and twice publicly thanked him on social media for his support.

I have not listened to this in forever. In high school I made some weird art project tracing the cracked glass from the back of this CD and then using some fist I took from an Inside Kung Fu magazine to make the fist punching the broken glass. It was cool to teenage me.

It is an article of faith among this crew that Sanders would have handily defeated Trump had Democrats abjured the counsel of their perfidious "neoliberal" donor overlords and nominated a 74-year-old socialist for the presidency. This bit of retrospective insanity is driving the push for Ellison's chairmanship of the party, and it betrays the penchant for half-baked fantasizing so common on the regressive left.
If there's one thing it ought to have learned from this most recent presidential election, it's that a country that just elected a xenophobic demagogue over Hillary Clinton would not have preferred a radical leftist. For in the battle of left-wing versus right-wing populism, (which is what a Trump-Sanders election would have essentially boiled down to), the latter will always win. When, in history, has it not?

Open letters aren't enough. If the Democrats want to root out the party within their party, they will need to stop indulging the DSA's constant, passive-aggressive attempts to undermine them. This would require prohibiting DA members from joining their party and throwing out the DSA members already honeycombed within it. Four decades ago, Labours Neil Kinnock expelled the extremist faction burrowing within his beloved party. If Democrats want to rescue their party, they may need to do the same.

Couple years ago I posted in response to a video of Trump golfing where, similar to this, he said something about, "Biden couldn't do that" And it just struck me as so pathetic. He is the sitting US President, and he's bragging about how he can get in and out of a car easier than another old man.

This sounds about right. Always two kinds of people. If someone paid a coder to make something with minimal planning, pushed it out without aggressive testing, it would likely be crap. That same person using AI is also pushing out crap. People who pay attention to details pay attention to details.

The people who benefit most from these tools are the ones who can engage with them critically. They can ask better questions, recognize when something looks off, and take the time to verify the results before relying on them.
In practice, that means spending more time reading and writing than you might expect. It means thinking through your systems in plain language, not just code, and being able to explain what they are doing and why.

It was always going to be our best chance to stop him. One problem is that Democrats have basically ceded entire federal districts to Republicans over the last decades, just accepted racist and bigoted use of blue slips and let the GOP corrupt the federal judiciary. We barely hold together now.

An absurdity of consumerism, an ice cream "fried chicken" that looks like an actual chicken drumstick, extra crispy, ice cream chicken, and chocolate bones. It is wild looking.
