Sky Chase, Wing Fortress and Death Egg don't end with sign posts or capsules whereas Metropolis Zone has ring placements form a beta version of the game, hence why they're in walls. 020

Play the sounds 19, 65, 09, 17 and you should hear a ring chime, then hold A and press start on the title screen and level select. For debug mode play the sounds 01, 09, 09, 02, 01, 01, 02, 04. The first set of numbers is Yuji Naka's birthday. 120

Also Sonic is invincible to damage and spikes which can soft lock the game if you get stuck on spikes. It works if you hear a ring. 110
