We finally got a nice walk in today at a lakeside park. During a quick break, Milo decided to use the sunshine and wind combo as his opportunity to audition for the role of "easy, breezy, beautiful, CoverGirl" 🐶✨☀️ (his ears typically reside in the flopped down/not ready for takeoff position 😂)

Small senior chihuahua mix takes in the sunshine and warm air as the wind blows his ears upward to stand on end in all their glory

a little timeline break ft. my senior toddler (15 this month 🧡), and his shenanigans. Milo lovvvves messing with this treat dispenser toy (I fill it with kibble 🤫). Everyone else just has to watch their ankles when he's swiping it around... Remember the Skip-It? Yeah. Same effect 😂 #DogSky #FurBaby

Interesting. 🤔...are we just talking Sam & Dean orrrr... should I be preparing to hunt something? Befriend something? Wait. Actually, is this an aliens thing? I'm 50% intrigued, 30% concerned, 20% hopeful of being abducted from this planet 😅😂 #spn #supernatural #horoscope

Most people track dark, chilly season by using a calendar. I track it by the amount of times I've sloshed hot chocolate/coffee on myself, and you know what? 🫵🤨 ☝️😧 ...... 🤔..... 🤨😐🫣 ...I've lost count...but I think we're pretty deep into it 🙃🥲🤣 Merry Christmas from this side of the nuthouse 🫡🎄☕

so many things suck right now. sometimes we have to find joy like it's pocket change. this was a #DIYHairCut experiment guided by a teaspoon of blind faith in my capabilities, a hefty dose of "can-do, fuck it" attitude, and good ol' YouTube tutorials. take inspiration from this at your own risk 🫡💟💟

"Ah well, growing up it was a… it was always nice to check out once in a while. I like to watch movies where I know the bad guy is going to lose." I hope you find at least 1 thing today that brings you joy like cheesy slasher movies do for Dean Winchester 💚 Happy Halloween! 🎃🖤 #spn #supernatural

Four screenshot panels from the show Supernatural, showing Dean Winchester with a candy sucker in his mouth. He's excited to see a life size David Yaeger animatronic (from his favorite slasher movie series) as he and Sam walk into a comic book shop. Dean presses a button on Yaeger to activate the voice recordings. Panels read/show from top to bottom:
Dean: "Oh dude!"
Yaeger: "We all do bad things sometimes"
Yaeger: "Trick or treat"
Dean: *big goofy smile of pure joy* (still featuring candy sucker 😆)

tw: death, violence In June, I visited Kent State to see the museum, walk the historic site, and pay my respects to those who lost their lives during the protest. The energy that's been consequently ingrained into those hallowed grounds is hard to put into words, but it's almost tangible #history

WHERE DOES IT END?

The strife and fighting continue into the night. Mechanical birds sound of death as they buzz overhead, spitting fire into the doomed towns where the women and children run and hide in the bushes and ask why- why are we not left to live our own lives?

In the pastures converted into battlefields the small metal pellets speed through the air, pausing occasionally to claim another victim. A teenager from a small Ohio farm clutches his side in pain, and as he feels his life ebbing away, he too asks why-why is he dying here, thousands of miles from home, giving his life for those who did not even ask his help?

The War Without a Purpose marches on relentlessly, not stopping to mourn for its dead, content to wait for its end.
But all the frightened parents who still have their sons fear that the end is not in sight.

Jeff Miller
February 14, 1966

As a high school student in New York, Jeff Miller composes this poem on war. He is fatally shot at Kent State on May 4.

OHIO HISTORICAL MARKER

KENT STATE UNIVERSITY: MAY 4, 1970

(Continued from other side)

On May 4, 1970, Kent State students protested on the Commons against the U.S. invasion of Cambodia and the presence of the Ohio National Guard called to campus to quell demonstrations. A small Guardsmen advanced, driving students past Taylor Hall. A small group of protesters taunted the Guard from the Prentice Hall parking lot. The Guard marched back to the Pagoda, where members of Company A, 145th Infantry, and Troop G, 107th Armored Cavalry, turned and fired 61-67 shots during thirteen seconds. Four students were killed - Allison Krause, Jeffrey Miller, Sandra Scheuer, and William Schroeder. Nine students were wounded - Alan Canfora, John Cleary, Thomas Grace, Dean Kahler, Joseph Lewis, D. Scott Mackenzie, James Russell, Robert Stamps, and Douglas Wrentmore. Those shot were 20 to 245 yards away from the Guard. The Report of the President's Commission on Campus Unrest concluded that the shootings were "unnecessary, unwarranted, and inexcusable."
