I *want* to finish the game, I hate leaving something so close to done and I'm like one chapter from the end... But the plot falling apart at the same time as combat becoming tedious and bad for my idiot brain, just makes it a truly rough proposition.

Every Gate Battle has about four times more enemies than I can even comprehend acting, too many of them are incredibly competent healers, and the fights go on for like *an hour* which makes it absolute hell to fuck up and fail one because that time is just straight down the toilet.

This latter bit is less on the game (but still an amount on it) and more on me just not being a TRPG liker, my brain is just AWFUL at planning moves in battles and for most of this game it's been completely fine... But god does Act 3 want you to be at least somewhat competent, a thing I am not.

I might just end up not finishing Fortune's Weave, for multiple reasons. Mainly, the complete destruction of any plot beats I cared about at all in the transition through Act 2 to Act 3 really soured me on most of the plot as I play more and more, but also I've just stopped having as much fun.

Thinking more about things that feel super rushed and weird in FW: Act 2 sure does just start. Absolutely no build up to Dagda being back, we completely drop anyone caring about the Order being pretty openly evil, Solel is killed entirely offscreen.

Act 3 so far seems like, more coherent, but also every single thing is available at once and feels so overwhelming, but maybe that's the point? Who knows, I'm at the very least excited to find out where the story is going.

Then Act 2 is just kind of a mess, exactly the same for every character, but if you want real prizes for them you'd better play through all four times! Which would be more reasonable if each battle wasn't *so long* and a couple them obnoxiously difficult.

In act 3 she seems to fully understand and know, going as far as to hang with Protagonist and Fortuna while the other 7 are chatting about their cool new emblem. How did we get to there?? Similar things for Anatolia and Talimun, though Bertramd talks about his stuff in Act 2.

Like, Orchel in act one is Charly some kind of embodiment or reincarnation or something of yu phas in a.... probably robot body? And from singular lines seems to not be completely sure herself but does know she's very old and is figuring it out towards the end.

Similarly seeing Diego with Orchel all the time. If those routes made it to the full game, we'd have them as our main crew on one instead of recruitables everywhere, and so it leaves so much room to speculate on what their stories could possibly be.

One of the neatest things in FW is seeing scenes with the characters whose routes got cut in the drop from 8 to 4. Like I spent a bunch of time with Goliath and Jester as guys I recruited from the nowhere pool, only to learn in my next route that they're with Bertrand.

Playing Fortune's Weave at a very casual pace, and picked Dietrich as my first route just out of curiosity about being basically Alucard. I adore that every single character who meets him or talks about him talks about how hot he is. It doesn't matter gender or class or any other context.

It's also really funny that I made these mid-fight so I went into all of them giving you the tiniest hp bar possible based on Psyche's experience, but in every fight except like two you were playing absolutely perfectly and finishing with nearly full.
