I’m catching up on #inktober. This is day one. I kinda…screwed it up by trying to add texture to the roads. My wife looked at it and didn’t understand why it was on-theme. Maybe I’m just weird, but i dislike taking themes literally.

I forgot we’d gotten this! I read a little #elfquest over the years, but never could follow it closely (I had to pick which comics I could afford, and there’s no way young me was going to settle for black and white ink in anything but expensive manga 😤).

Turned a big box into a little… “food stand” for my son. One thing lead to another, and now we have a whole fiction about a helpful little goblin chef that follows people around and demands they eat healthy meals.

The process was, effect8vely, to tweak the levels on the original text-less map, pick a few index colors, switch over to index mode, and then start touching up.

The next step is going to be getting it traced into a nice SVG, but owlbear doesn't even take that, so for now this half-finished PNG will do!

I am trying to participate in #ldjam , though the day isn’t cooperating. Here’s some of my planning. I don’t think I’ve seen a ham radio game in a losing dare before.
