Akito found himself humming a soft song mindlessly, a more nostalgic tune. He felt a bit more calm when hearing it as he cleaned. It was peaceful, for now.. Comfortable silence filled his room, the only sound’s being his humming and the wiping on his blade before he put it back in its sheath.

Taking off his uniform and switching into more comfortable clothes, he sighed as he sat down on his mattress. Stressing hadn’t been one of the issues he’s had in a bit, but it was currently plaguing him at the moment. Unable to sleep, he started to clean off his sword from practicing.

Shinonome had been training for quite a bit, wanting to avoid being held back for it if he could help it. Time passed quickly, once he took a moment and looked at the time. “ Another late night… “ he spoke, the tiredness getting to him slowly. He yawned, heading back to his living quarters to rest.

He started to unsheathe his blade, settling its cover on the ground. “Shall we start this then, O’ great beastkeeper?” He said, pointing his blade in your direction with a grin.

Akito smiled once again, grabbing the sheath of his sword and holding it in front of him. “For old times’ sake, huh. Well, it seems a lot more fun when I’m doing it for simple enjoyment… I don’t mind a little duel while the night’s still young.”

“And, yes, I am not actively on patrol. Finally got the commander to let me take a break, so I thought a short walk would do me some good… Seems I came just in time to spot you.”

Akito chuckled at the comment, responding with a small smile. “Maybe you just pay too much attention to your surroundings, I can’t hide any action I do near you.” He felt a warm comfort in his chest, Talking with a close friend such as you is probably something he’s been wanting to do for a bit.

Shinonome flinched, not expecting the sudden words from Aoyagi. He stood from the trees shadow, dusting himself off. “ I wasn’t staring, just simply… Observing. Your growth in skill, that is. No need to go reporting me for being curious. “ He spoke defensively, fighting off his own grin.

He treads around the outside of the castle walls, leaves crushing under his feet. Finding a lonesome tree in the kingdom’s forest nearby, enjoying its tranquility in the atmosphere, He decided to take a break. Shinonome pulled off his gloves, setting them on his lap as he sighs, shutting his eyes.
