May not seem like a big deal BUT IT IS. The L.O.R.E. Kickstarter is up to 100 Followers 🪅🎉🥳🪅 Between that and our mailer our total is 190, and that's only 10 more until 200! This game is near and dear to my heart. It's years of work (with no pay 😂), by one person, and it's so close to real!

We're fresh off our first convention presence and HOT DAMN am I pleased. The interest in L.O.R.E. was stellar--every time I said "D&D x Final Fantasy Tactics" our booth goers went 👀 Almost 100 mailing list sign ups, lots of new friends (who won free dice) and a great time.

What started as an annoyance with the direction of D&D in the form of new systems and redone character creation, L.O.R.E. became its own #ttrpg wholly manifested on merit. Infinitely customizable, deep, and satisfying, I'm beyond excited for folks to get their hands on it.

A 2 page spread of sample materials for the LORE Motivations System. It details how the system works, by Keywords determined by a character's chosen Motivations, which can be "satisfied" to gain experience, and can be gained, lost, or suppressed during play.

Flaws too can add to your background, allowing you to sacrifice some kind of capability for a boost. Like Background Traits, Flaws stick with you throughout the game, and may drastically change how you play, or give you just enough extra to grab that essential feature.

A list of flaws:

Fulfilled Contract. Makes you indebted to a Devil or Hag, with them sending minions to collect your soul at the most inconvenient times.

Haunted. You are straight up haunted, with a ghost or other spirit that follows you around and makes your life so, so very difficult.

A list of flaws:

Chronic Illness. Wake up to a bad day. Triggers more often than not. It's always bad.

Damage Sponge. All damage hurts.

Deaf. You're deaf.

Limb Condition. You're missing a limb or its permanently disabled.

Mute. You're mute.

Less social meda presence usually means more work is getting done, and that's been exactly the case for us! For #selfpromosaturday in the #ttrpgcommunity, we've got some example spreads for the L.O.R.E. Player Guide. Enjoy some of the details from Book 1:

This spread futures LORE's Physiologies, a series of 26 "races/species" for character creation, along with Sifa, a Sky Gnome, rendered at the top, and a more in-depth look at the "Smallfolk" section, which details Gnomes, Halflings, Kobolds, and Goblins!

This spread features the LORE "alignment" system: Motivations, a concept that drills down into WHAT motivates a character to do what they do. This has the basic description of keywords and a short list of available chaotic and evil motivations.

The splash page for Chapter 4 of the LORE Player's Companion. This page features Alethia on the first page, with (eventually) a short story featuring her legendary tale.

The page aside has a list of all base & advanced LORE classes, about 40 or so, along with a description of class attributes.

A splash page of the Witch, one of the Arcane Caster Classes in LORE. The Witch has 3 advanced classes: the Hag, Spellweaver, and Witch Knight, with their respective tables, and a bit of introductory details about the class featured here.

Our artist for LORE, Miranda, is incredible at pulling images out of my head. I think these sketches could use significantly more appreciation, so BEHOLD, some of our canon "Legends", feature characters in our side stories, or "Legendary Tales".

Tomoe Takeko is a Sword Saint Drujkin. Basically, that means she's a Yokai that murders you good with a sword.

Sifa is one of my favorite characters. She cute, she sol, she's the scariest god damn assassin you can meet in the back alley at night.

Gerriant, our resident "Baby Girl", has just as much cleavage as Takeko. Maybe a bit more, actually. ...yeah that fits.

Let's learn a bit more about L.O.R.E., our D&D x Final Fantasy Tactics inspired #ttrpg! Today we're looking at a snippet of the Primordial Origin, specifically a power of the Sky Element, a classic: Lightning Bolt! Electric damage is hard to get, ruled by primordial energy. More ⬇️

Gonna just c/p the text here:

Lightning Bolt
CL (5) Sky Power
Primordial, AoE, Environmental, Offense
Energy: 3, +1 per 1d8 damage or +10-ft. length
Range: Self
Components: Physical, Social
Duration: Instant
Targets: Beam (60 x 5 ft.)
You evoke an unstable burst of Energy in a snapping discharge as a Beam (60 x 5 feet). Make a Magic attack against the targets’ DEX Defense.
Strike. Deal 5d8 + Origin Modifier, Inflict Electrified (1 Turn).
Graze. Deal ½ strike damage.

Overcast. +1d8 damage/ +10-ft. length per Energy.

At CL (10), increase cost to 6 to create Chain Lightning:
Chain Lightning. After casting Lighting Bolt, you activate Chain Lightning as a Quick Magic reaction. Doing ends the bolt’s Beam and splits it into your Level Bonus projectiles with a range of 30 from the end of the Beam against creatures you choose.
Make a Magic attack against the targets’ DEX Defense.
Strike. Deal 4d10 + Origin Modifier Electric damage.

Overcast. +2d10 initial, +1d10 projectile damage, and +10-ft. length & +5-ft. projectile range per Energy.
