For day FIVE we are highlighting ways to participate! Plain text in alt.

We went over how to post in day seven of our countdown, but I'd like to highlight meaningful ways to celebrate Willsker Week!

Not everyone is able to create a full seven fanworks, and some people may just want to watch and not create anything, that's totally fine too! That doesn't mean you're being left out of the fun, even on days where you may not be posting something new!

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE IN WILLSKER WEEK:

CREATE!
The first and most obvious answer is to make something! Submissions, by no means, need to be high-effort beta-read masterpiece fics or fully rendered art. We are here to lift up EVERYONE- so we are accepting all mediums, from playlists and collages to video edits and fanfics. Drabbles to longfics, sketches to paintings: If you create something in the spirit of the event, we will share it and hype it up. It is not too late to create something, either- you still have a full five days before we kick off, and if that's not enough time, late submissions will be accepted without hesitation!

Love the day 2 prompts but your work isn't ready til day 5? No worries!

Love the day 3 prompts but won't have your work ready til September? Also cool!

SHARE!
See something you like? Reblog it! Bookmark it! Recommend it to your friends! THIS BLOG will be the home of everything tagged #Willsker Week 2026, so keep your eyes peeled starting August 3rd for all of the wonderful creations coming our way- and if you see something you like, share it far and wide! Shout it from the rooftops! We will be keeping eyes on Twitter/X and BlueSky for submissions over there, too, and doing our best to make sure everything lands here. See something we missed? Don't hesitate to let us know via our Ask or Submission boxes here on Tumblr!

APPRECIATE!
Leave comments on posts that resonate with you- and like/reblog them! Leave comments and kudos on AO3! Leave likes, reposts, and replies over on X and Bluesky! These events are worthwhile for artists, editors, and writers alike because they are community driven! Willsker is a smaller community- so this is a great opportunity to show up and show out! Even if you don't usually leave comments, this is a great opportunity to start- even just some tags on a reblog or a few emojis in the ao3 comment box go a long way in making these events memorable and worthwhile for everyone participating!

FAQ (plain text in alt)

FAQ:
Other Characters:
Wesker and Birkin don’t have to be the only characters in your submission, Willsker just has to be the focus!

You used Willsker and not Weskin- does this imply a specific dynamic/dominant partner?
The dynamic between them doesn’t matter, we just used WillSker over WesKin because it’s the more common name for the ship!

Whumps/Archive Warnings/“DDDNE”?
Archive Warning/more extreme content is absolutely fair game, please just ensure that all submissions are tagged accordingly! We believe in AO3’s core principles and follow a simple rule: don’t like, don’t read.

What if I don’t like a day’s prompts?
No worries! Feel free to skip that day, or to select from any of the provided Alt prompts!

Can prompts be combined?
Sure! Feel like writing about a road trip through bad weather, or a fantasy time travel AU? Go crazy. Get creative!

How should I interpret (x) prompt?
All prompts are open to interpretation! For example, holidays could be taken to be a fluffy fic Wesker and Birkin celebrating the traditional december holidays, or it could be a smutty fic about sexy Halloween costumes! Totally up to you!

What about Firsts/Lasts?
Again- open to interpretation! You could write about their first kiss and their last kiss- or just their first kiss! Or just their last impressions of one another! ETC ETC.

Do I have to participate in all days?
No! You can participate for one day, three days, six days- whatever you’d like! We welcome any and all participation levels!

Are early submissions allowed?
No. Early submissions will not be accepted.

Are late submissions allowed?
Yes! Late submissions will absolutely be accepted.
