If anyone didn't know: Green Party candidate Lombardo was a GOP precinct committeeman until less than a week before she re-registered and launched her Green Party campaign. In 23 she sold "Kari Won” buttons and backed far-right GOP campaigns with her husband who remains a GOP precinct committeeman.

Obviously, you're unaware of the version of this I heard going around many many years ago... GHWB (a former Navy pilot) secretly flew himself to Tehran in an SR-71 (to minimize the amount of time he'd be off the public's radar) and cut the whole deal on Reagan's behalf. My money is on the idea that Trump is actually sending him to get the Russians to come up with some kind of "proof" that they were never all in for Trump and that it was the Democrats they tried to help in 2016, 2020, 2024 and to try and use this "proof" to support Trump trying to overturn 2028.

I love these cases - 1997's SCOTUS decision "Printz v U.S.", thrilled right-wingers cause it was the decision that killed the Brady Handgun Law. SCOTUS said the feds can't force state and local cops to enforce federal law. MAGA is learning that knife cuts both ways.

"They" could possibly include federal law enforcement and/or the National Guard in already in DC. From their perspective what's the risk in trying Insurrection 2.0? If it fails - pardons for all!

Based off past performance, I take very little comfort in the idea that they'll obey the Constitution. Attempts to never leave would probably ultimately fail, but I wouldn't put it past them to try. What's the risk? So far they've gotten way with all sorts of illegality. Could get real messy...

In his time as Speaker Johnson has sworn in every Republican winner of a special election within 24 hours. When it came to AZ Dem Adelita Grijalva he made up bullshit excuses to delay swearing her in for 49 days after she won a special election - a new House record! He do the same after Nov 2026.
