Oh yes that’s even better!

It’s been a rough few days. Countered by some wonderful moments. But when I feel like I’m overwhelmed…I pop open my Apple Wallet and remind myself Friday’s not far away!

Take it from the American. Don’t. Stop it right now. This will go down an evil, dark path. Don’t let it start. Just don’t.

This morning =bureaucratic nightmare with employees who take joy in wasting my time. For a minute I thought I was back in the states. 🙄

I watched this about 4 years ago, thought it was funny. But now that I’m living in the North - it’s a riot, inn’it?

Tonight’s viewing - a Japanese zombie horror film? Okay then.

Not a CW fan. Adore her music. She was a brilliant, compassionate human being, with a lot of admirable qualities. She and I did have 2 things in common (just put them right out there 😉) and we should all strive to be like Dolly when we grow up. #gnu Dolly, and rest peacefully.

Isn’t the answer always Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?

#Caturday Think she might forgive me for being away, but it’ll take many more treats and much more petting.

Sabrina is exhausted from all the attention.

Amy @aysquared.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

No just at home. It was recommended by someone - not sure who but it was on my watchlist. Very different, in quite a good way.

This evening’s first watch - can’t quite describe it but really enjoying it!

110

Amy @aysquared.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

It’s very good - JJ Abrams, excellent sci-fi. The basic premise is kind of X-files crossed with Stargate and NCIS. There’s 5 seasons and so far it’s been well written. I think you might enjoy it!

Starting season 4 this evening -

Just a nice little ghost story for this evening’s watch.

Oh you know it’s not the building but the people who gather that make it beautiful. One of my church buildings has a roof that’s been leaking for a decade, and I love them too!

Amy @aysquared.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

One of the three, yes. It’s the historic one, St Elisabeth’s, built by Waterhouse and paid for by the local mill owner who wanted his employees to have a place to go. Really impressive!

I'd be grateful if you'd share this around. I'm happy to be in conversation with folks who might be interested in pursuing one of these grants.

Mild mannered during the day but by night she becomes The Vicar! (Cue theme music.🎶)

It is! Spent just enough time to know I will have to come back, for a canal ride and a tour of the castle.

Taking advantage of community day trips on a coach bus to see more of this beautiful country. Today we are off to Skipton - my reserved spot simply says “The Vicar.” 😎

Early on The Lads had quite a variety of merch, from the pint glass to a bathmat. Not sure if it’s still available but I think you should ask one of the hosts? 😎

And another reason why England is better than the US - I just walked into the local bookstore and picked up a copy of @pgjonesvenice.bsky.social’s latest! “Sorry I can’t come to the phone right now, I have an appointment with Nathan and Fede.”

Whoever said that should have their tongue cut out. Less of the cat?! 😼

Here’s an example of the type of banter my sister and I have on this US holiday:

Meow at the front door, to have it open, but don’t go out. Meow at the back door, to have it open but don’t go out. Lie blissfully in the cross breeze to stay cool. Yes, she is one of the most intelligent beings I know. #Caturday

It was only 2 hours from me so it was a nice day trip. I’ve been missing being near the water since moving (leaving behind the Jersey shore 😢)

Llandudno. On a trip with the church ladies. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen.

Re:dish in Reddish (near Stockport) might have some ideas, they have a local youth program or may be able to contact the local Scout huts. www.redish.org.uk I wish I had room in one of my churches for a youth space - kids in Reddish need their own places to gather and just hang out together.

It’s quite nice so far - I’m planning to really check out the area tomorrow during the day. But to be honest, I don’t think any other city will ever top York for me.

It was! You know, I’m trying to do Evensong in as many places as possible, and this one has to be up in the top three. The choir was incredible and the cathedral is stunning.

KS has talked about a sequel - it was one of the reasons he really wanted the rights back. That and he was disgusted by H Weinstein’s ownership of anything.

A sad departure for our much beloved Andre, and more proof that the movie doesn’t have to be great for the episode to be excellent!
