*Swallowing hard, tears once more streaming down my face, shaking like a loose sail in the wind, I struggled to get the name out. Either way I was a dead man. Pan if I didn't answer. The Captain if he finds out I talked to Pan. And the other person simply because... well because!* Gold! It be-

- ye might say. Mayhap ye could even say ready ta give up. I notice his melancholy. But tis nay a relationship other than his hatred fer this one.

*I started to quiver in fear once more. There was no way out of this. I had to say something convincing.* Tis always the same wi' the Captain, Mr. Pan. He be frustrated and angry wi' the same person. Always, his nemesis ye understand. It's been like this fer months. The Captain be down, depressed -

- leave me little choice.* There be none specific Mr. Pan. I swear to ye, on me grandmother's grave. *I take a coughing fit to stall for time to think.*

*As you gesture I feel like your hands are squeezing my windpipe. Dropping my hat I desperately claw at my throat to try to find enough air to breathe. Finally it stops and you once more question me. I cannot betray the Captain, and I'm not even sure I know enough to do so. Your threats though -

*I wasn't quite sure what you were getting at, but I did know that my answer might be a breech of trust with the Captain.* I... be nay aware o' sich a thing Mr. Pan. O' course I nay be privy to the Captain's inner thoughts ye see. Mayhap he be bored wi' the local pubs?

Aye Mr. Pan sir. *This question seemed harmless enough and certainly betrayed no issues with the Captain. Anyone that knew the Captain would know this as common with him.* Of late it seems he's bin taken wi' his own company and council. Tis most true.

*I stopped shivering and nodded, biting my lower lip in contemplation. I was surprised you knew this much about me, had even taken any notice of me for that matter. While I still twisted my cap in my hands, I sat back on my heels awaiting your questions.* Aye sir?

Y... yes sir Mr. Pan. *I raised my eyes to yours, mine filled with terror, yours filled with amusement and a hardness glittering beneath that. This told me that the danger was real. One false step and you wouldn't hesitate to send me to swim with the fishes!* What ... what can I do fer ye sir? I be-

A... a... aye sir Mr. Pan. Smee always be accomodatin' ye see. Whatever ye wish, Smee can get it fer ye. Jist ye ask and t'will be done. *Mind racing feverishly now I tried to figure out what he wanted. He'd not killed me outright so he had to want something else instead.*

- the worst I kept to my knees, rocking back and forth in my anxiety, tears on my cheeks as I looked down at the ground. I'd quickly taken my hat off and was wringing it nervously in both hands. I didn't dare speak first. I knew better.*

*My heart was beating so loudly I could barely breathe. I knew who had summoned me and I knew just how ruthless and cruel he could be. I frantically cast my mine back to think If I had done anything to offend him, but could think of nothing. No reason came to me as to why he would want me. Fearing -

I'm very glad to hear that indeed. Now another thing. The matter of Miss Ashley Boyd, our single parent. She is currently working double shifts to make up the rest of your rent before her extension has run out. Imagine, a single parent having to work Christmas Eve, straight though without being -

Nevertheless it has happened and now all of those children and the manager worship the ground you walk on. They won't hear a bad word about you. If anyone tries to change their minds they get quite testy! If possible they would set you up for sainthood! *I coughed behind my hand at that comment.*-

- the purchase of items they desperately needed for renovations as well as materials for recreation and even treats. Sometimes you have even had groceries delivered ahead of various holidays and events. Most generous Rumple! *My smirk grew wider, seeing how you were reacting to this information.*

It seems that /you/ have taken quite an interest in the orphanage and the needs of the children it houses. Over the last year you have made several rather substantial donations to them to allow for -

Not interfere Rumple, intervene. There's a difference. One is done out of maliciousness, the other out of love and respect. This very day a letter will arrive or you. It's from the head master of the Lost Boy's Orphanage. He is eager to invite you to their Christmas banquet. He wants to give you -

- make some changes in your life and actions it will all be for naught. Hence the request to us to help you see the error of your ways.

They seem to think it would change much in your life. Things are presently changing in this town Rumple. Thoughts about you have been influenced among various people by a person that knows you well and has made it their mission to change attitudes and beliefs about you. But unless you truly do -

- the sun shine. Happy to make others glad to see you, to respect you, even so much as to love you!

Because the request was for you Rumple. And you alone. Apparently they hold you in good stead and have a heartfelt desire to see you happy. And I just don't mean happy because of a grossly growing bank account. I mean happy in life and in your relationships. Happy to get up in the morning and see -
