Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I had my retirement all figured out ... just 4 more years and I'm done with this shit. Now I'm redoing the math trying to see if there's a way to reduce my remaining work time by mere 4 years. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Credit Karma keeps telling me I could save by switching to a mortgage with a 6.39% interest rate. I guess yeah - if I was part of the 0.3% of mortgage holders who were unlucky to have a higher rate than that. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Capital One suggests "You could save with Geico on your car insurance". I wonder how that would work? Every time I've checked Geico they are 20-40% more expensive than my current insurance. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 24/09/2026LinkedIn is funny. I see all these jobs where LI suggests "You'd be a top applicant" - and when you apply, you never even hear back from the company. I guess "top applicant" is the bronze tier of applicants. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 22/09/2026You simply cannot have too many posts and photos about cycling in Calgary. 171
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I don't know why my feed is filled with posts about cycling in Calgary. Both are great - but I don't live _anywhere_ near Calgary (I don't even live in Canada). 140

Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 24/08/2026It feels like a full-time job to teach the YouTube algorithm what kind of music I like. Here's a tip: less of the music I skip, and more of the music I don't skip. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 21/08/2026A guy commented on a Youtube video how he and his late wife used to dance to the song the video was for in the late 80s - those were fond memories for him. The a$$hole in me wanted to reply to him and point out that the song was released in -93. I didn't. 000

Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 17/08/2026It's been an emotional rollercoaster of a weekend. First got all excited when i realized I can retire in 4 years. Then I got overjoyed when I realized I could retire possibly in a year or two. Finally a huge disappointment set in when I finally realized I have to wait for 4 years 'til I can retire. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Murder on the Dancefloor is an absolute banger. Still. 000

Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 16/07/2026The ultra wealthy always oppose the idea of wealth tax. The automatic response is that wealth tax will drive billionaires away. Why though? Can't they just work a little bit harder to make up the difference? 010
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 14/07/2026You might ask: isn't this expected since the number of deaths should go up along with the number of detainees? The simple answer would be yes; but during the 2025-2026 period there has also been a 140% Increase in Mortality Rate among ICE detainees. So there's gotta be something else... 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Go figure ... 2004 - ICE was founded (in the wake of 9/11) 2020 - Covid 2025-2026 - I'm sure there's a rational explanation 100
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 13/06/2026I came across a post stating that the middle class (or the poor) are closer to Jeff Bezos in terms of personal wealth than Bezos is to Elon Musk. That really put things into perspective. Bezos is middle class, not ultra wealthy. This is why we can all relate to Bezos' comments about taxation. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 05/06/2026There are so many things I dislike about VGK that it's hard to keep count. 000

Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 27/05/2026Meta emailed me that I received a "Business Manager partner request" - and then the mail included long list of warnings how it could be, or probably is, fraud. I dunno - it was too long a message. Honestly - I have no idea what "Business Manager" is - and I just don't care one fucking iota. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 27/05/2026Got an email from Google telling me they are changing something about their certificates and some APIs may stop working - depending on something. Can't you just stop changing shit that breaks other people's stuff? I don't have the time or energy to care. Fuck ... I just don't give a shit. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 27/05/2026And they narrowed down his health issue down to four possibilities - and then prescribed the antibiotics. Jesus fucking christ. To summarize: - we spent 2 hours at the vet - we spent $204 for the visit - we still don't know what issue he has - and we got the antibiotics to treat him 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 27/05/2026I mean - is there no limit to the greed, or the incompetence around here? The vet also listed 4 different diseases the dog may have - like what kind of fucking guessing game is it? The insisted we bring him to the vet before prescribing antibiotics. They charged $204 for the visit. ... 100
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 27/05/2026Today Peacock informed me (among others) that they felt it's cool to raise their prices by roughly 20%. Took my dog to the vet and told them his cough started two days ago, and in the visit report they captured he has had the cough for 7 days. These small things just wear the fuck out of me. 100

Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 18/04/2026They are also so much better on flights than noise cancelling headphones or earbuds. Like said - they are pricey (even the cheapest) - but I've had no regrets. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 18/04/2026My ears are tricky, and I have not found a single pair of earbuds that don't fall off my ears. So I finally doled out the $$ and bought a pair of customs - and the fit is phenomenal. I will sit 6 hours (at work) with them on with no pain whatsoever. 000
Aki T. @axudude.bsky.social · 18/04/2026Custom IEMs do exactly that. And they isolate the outside noise so well you also enjoy not listening anything. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Yes. 440
