day 1: simple

A story on a white background, listed below:

"You know that proper gas tank storage is important to a safe workspace, yeah?"

Working in a laboratory is no small feat, and despite only being an intern, Axi can see when a tank is sitting in the middle of the lab. Naturally, the first thing they do is report this to their superiors, trying to be as humble as possible.

"You still have a valve attached to this tank of helium, and it's not even attached to anything. Did they even give you the living balloon PSA? It means that accidental inflation's happened enough times to make that a thing. The fix is easy, you just gotta move it back into it's cage and-"

Unfortunately, practicing safe science does not equate to being good at lifting tanks.
With one wrong step, Axi slips.

...suddenly loosening the valve...

...stumbling onto their back...

...and swallowing the nozzle, tank pinning them down.

With a hissing in their ears, Axi grimaces at the irony of the simple situation.

Axel finds a slip of paper stuck on their right arm, with the Japanese katakana of balloon written on it, wondering how it got there.
